We’ve covered all kinds of bosses lately. Disgusting bosses, anticlimactic bosses, bosses that keep coming back for more, you get the drift. However, there’s a special kind of boss that warrants attention for their inability to die, at least legitimately and in certain parts of certain games.

So while they may be invulnerable in one fight, you can probably best them later. For other situations though, let’s look at 15 video game bosses that you can’t kill, no matter what. Warning: The word “impossible” and variations of it are repeated a lot.

  • "All you had to do was follow the damn train, CJ!" Seriously, this mission from GTA SA is based more on luck than skill. The AI for Big Smoke is simply horrible at aiming.

You could've change the title to "Scripted Bosses."

No Jedi Outcast where Kyle Katarn can never win against that lizard, humanoid alien jedi? Even with invincibility cheats, the fight goes on forever and ever. Fun fight, though.

Big sisters are tough but not as tough as getting Bioshock 2/remastered to run on steam without crashing.

Number 1: Dr. Kahl's Robot on Expert Mode.
  • Dark Souls 1: Seath the Scaleless the first time you encounter him. He is in a closed off room where he summons crystals to come up from the ground from all over the room except for the very front, in a space just big enough for you to barely stand in. The crystals decimate your health and even if you get to the very front without dying he is still unable to be hurt, it is the first time where you HAVE to die in order to progress in the game since you will be transported to a jail cell within the Duke's Archives. The only time you can deal damage to him is the actual boss fight in the Crystal Cave right outside of the archives, you have to destroy the Primordial Crystal (the thin shiny crystal in the back of the room) making him immortal. He's an easy boss afterward and should be the first of the four lords to go and kill after receiving the Lord Vessel.

No Seeth the Scaleless (Dark Souls 1) you not only can not beat him the first time you encounter him, but you actually have to die to him for the game to progress
