Reviews:
Okay, I consider myself a pretty good Halo fan. I have played through all of the games numerous times, and read every Halo book that has been released. I was walking through Walmart's electronics department about a month ago, and I see a Halo movie. What? A Halo movie? Let me take a closer look. Oh great, its a live action Halo movie that I have never heard of, this is going to be terrible.......but its only $14 on BluRay so what the heck. Then I get home (with the kids at daycare) and start watching it on my 42" TV. OH MY GOD. The movie is brimming with great character development, and morality themes regarding the human rebellions before the covenant attack. The main characters (which are cadets at a UNSC Military Acadamy) are all new faces, except the lead female who is the girl from Narnia. They all do a great job convincing me that they are the children of the highest echelon of the UNSC elite, who are trying to make their parents proud. Some people claim that them movie is a little slow at first, or that it parallels Starship Troopers. I do not agree with those claims. The movie thoroughly develops and introduces the characters, so when the covenant (and Master Chief) arrive, you are vested in them, and don't want them to die. By the way, the Covenant were done fantastically, and Master Chief is NOT CGI, but instead the most realistic and amazing armor outfit every constructed. Bottome line, if you like anything about Halo, or if you plan on playing Halo 4, see this movie. Thank you 343 studios for coming out of left field and blowing me away with this movie. I just wish I could have seen it in the theater!!! Written by meestabeck-586-169733 on IMDB.

  • This movie knew not to show chiefs face. Shows how much respect they had for the series. Unlike a certain streaming service.
  • Anyone else agree that this is how the show should’ve been??
  • The ODSTs dropping into the courtyard as the panic begins to set in is, to this day, one of my favorite scenes in any movie. It's so well done
  • He started as a faliure, he turned into a cadet, he was one of 3 survivors of one of the first covenant attacks, he made a courageous choice, he earned master chiefs respect, and would later become captain of the greatest ship ever made by humanity. He is Captain Laskey
  • When you realize chief somewhat recently lost Sam…so when he says “I’m sorry” to Lasky…he does it with somber and respect…🥺😭

That ending scene where Kelly and Fred take off their helmets but Chief doesn’t is SO powerful. I completely forgot about it and my entire body got chills. THIS is a true live action Halo experience.
  • They actually made the covenant look absolutely terrifying in this movie. The final reveal to the cadets of three corvettes over the space elevator still sends shivers down my spine. Also the attention to detail. If you look VERY closely to the corvettes after they blast the elevator at 50:19. You can actually see thin gray streaks coming from the Corvettes. Those are Covenant drop pods. Paramount could never in a million years make something this good.

All the actors in this movie really showed up, definitely deserves more recognition!
  • Helmet not removed once, yet conveyed every single emotion simply by having good writing and execution. This is what Halo is, to this day such an incredibly good movie
  • I wasn't even a huge fan of this when it came out but after seeing the new show I really love and appreciate this movie.
  • Cheif isn't portrayed as emotionless here. He isn't treated like a robot being controlled. He's treated as a teenager who has been physically and cybernetically enhanced who is still processing everything in his life. The one greatest thing about Halo 4 is we finally see Cheif being reminded that despite all the horrific things he's been through and the great accomplishments he has, he is in fact still human and needs to learn to be one.

That moment when Chief asks for more time and yells back “I WON’T LEAVE THEM”, truly shows he cares about his fellow soldiers and really is humanity’s protector.
  • Chief looks so heavy in this. And he looks comfortable. He doesn't look like he's waddling around all awkward like the suit is two big for him and made out of one piece. Looks so good.
  • @O6i
The ending scene when they take off their helmets and the girl says, "that's classified." That's Halo! That was amazing. The feelings and emotions of realizing humanities greatest warriors were children, taken from their homes and tortured by experiments.

1:17:59 One of the best scenes in any Halo media especially if you've read the books and know the significance of these characters. The look on the cadets' faces realizing that the Spartans (most notably the Master Chief) are just kids as well is very powerful and I love how there's no words spoken in that moment
  • @WarGrowlmon18
Chief: refuses to leave Lasky and the gang behind. Lasky in Halo 4: "Yeah, Command didn't like that Captain DelRio left you behind so now I'm in charge!!!"
  • 1:09:42 you can see how overwhelmed Cheif is at the sight of a Hunter. He's 15 in this Movie. You don't need to see his face to understand his emotions. The new show doesn't understand this.

I'm an old woman now, but the fondest memories I have was playing Halo with my son and all his buddies. To this day I think about the fun we used to have. We would have 4 TV's set up in different rooms in the house, each having 5 players. We would stay up all night eating pizza, drinking soda pop and playing Halo. To this day I still play an occasional game.....what good memories. Forward Unto Dawn is a damn good movie, I wish they would make more of them......one can only wish.....
  • I always liked this movie... and seeing Paramount's newest assault on the franchise has only hammered home my appreciation for this movie.
