This video was a game changer. I had watched other videos about tearing out the dash to stop the clicking noise. I happened on this video when verifying the part name. I didn’t know there were 2. The game changer was the advice to touch the part by the gas pedal to diagnose. Saved me time, headache, and heartache. Thank you so much.

Before this video I had no idea what a mode door actuator was or that a gas pedal can be removed. Ordered the part and replaced it in 15 minutes. Thank you!

Thank you so much! The clicking started like two weeks ago on my truck and I was going nuts. I thought I had to take the dash apart then I saw your video. Life saver.

Spent at least two years just living with it after replaced the one behind the radio. Your video solved my problem and I now have peace and will keep the truck longer. Big thanks!

You just saved me big time, the passenger side was blowing hot air and driver cold air on Max AC I just disconected it from the motor and everything worked just fine again both sides on cold Ac at the same time, will fix it soon but for the moment I can be in peace knowing that I dont have to tear apart half dash board, thanks you just won a spot in heaven lol 🙏🏻🙌🏻

I just disconnected the lead and it finally shut up! I set the air flow to come out of the vents instead of the upper dash or floorboard areas before I disconnected it so it's just stuck in that position which is fine because it's summertime. This all started when I was running my heat on full during the winter. Suddenly the fan speed knob quit working (it's stuck blowing at about 50% intensity) and then I noticed that the system would not stop moving air even when the power button is pressed and the lights are off. The temperature control works and the AC compressor button works as well as Max AC and circulating button. The floor/dash/vent selector is also working but when you set it to vents only, it will start making the sound for about 2 minutes and then stop. It would also make the sound when the vehicle was turned off. When approaching the truck after it has been sitting powered down, as soon as one of the door code buttons or the unlock button on the key fob is pressed and the system initiates, the noise would start up again even though the vehicle isn't running. So annoying! Thank you very much! I will replace it eventually but now I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet. (Edit: The noise really does sound like it's coming from behind the radio in the upper dash area, but it's just projecting out through the vents. I, like many other people in this thread, was assuming it was coming from behind the radio in the upper dash, but it's not. I could actually feel the pieces moving with my finger through a slot in the side of the part. So glad I watched this video!)

This video saved me from spending 2+ hours of my life replacing the blend door actuator for the 2nd time. Replaced this part on my 2014 and solved my issue, took me all of 10 minutes. The clicking was only occurring when the air mode was on auto.

This is an excellent video. It doesn't use any fluff in the into to try and boost viewer minutes or go into a lot of useless background info or any other distractions. Here's the problem, here's the fix. Period. Simple and straightforward. Wish all DIY videos were this concise. This video rapidly identified and solved my problem. The driver side actuation was definitely the one clicking when I put my hand on it and it only took about 15 minutes to get the old one out. Will be putting in the new one today. Unfortunately had to get a Dorman part because the dealership was closed by Saturday afternoon and I needed to get the truck put back together Sunday. At least it has a lifetime warranty and is easy to replace again if needed. Only remaining question I have is whether any sort of calibration or adjustment is needed once the new one is installed, or does it self-align. BTW, I opened the old one and found broken gear teeth inside.

Pulling the gas pedal made access a breeze! Other posts complain about lack of access to reach the bolts and module. Took me like 10 minutes to do the job.

Had the same problem, was the mode actuator. Thanks for the video.

Thanks Just saved me a ton. Thought I was going to have to take to dealer to do lower motor because I didn't want to mess with that. This was one clicking. Unplugged it or now. Ordered for $34.

This just started happening in my 2014. I already have an issue with my air recirculating blend door and I’ve been putting it off for years because I don’t feel like taking the dash apart.
