  • I used this today on a kitchen that I believe hasn’t been cleaned in 10-15 years and the owner frequently used a deep fryer on the counter. The cabinets looked even worse than your example, but this stuff worked like a charm. I’m so thankful you posted this video. I think you saved me hours of scrubbing. Thank you!
  • A little hint for landlords. Every time I went into one of my units after they came vacant I'd find grease had popped onto the walls and turned into concrete all around the area of the stove. I bought transparent contact paper from Family Dollar and wallpapered the area around the stove. Peel it off and replace it with some clean stuff. I found that any product that was strong enough to remove the grease would also remove the paint. Saved me hours of work and frustration

“ I typically start with the hardest things to clean so I feel better when I get to the easy ones.” That alone was worth the price of admission. I wish my 20 year old could hear that - from anyone - and that it would sink in. Have a good one!

Another helpful thing to use for cleaning nooks and crannies are the thin bamboo skewers sold for bbq kabobs. They are sturdy enough to dig gunk out of corners, great for filling damaged screw holes, lots of uses and they don't hurt surfaces. Plus, they are cheap. Thank for the great tip.

I have been trying to find a cleaner that would do that for 30 years worth of grease layered on kitchen walls. Nothing has worked so far. I went right out and bought some of this and guess what.....IT WORKS!!! FINALLY I can get this cleaned up and painted!! Thank you for sharing this!

OMG! I just tried this on my kitchen cabinets today and walls today, and it really works! I searched high and low for something strong enough to remove that buildup. I appreciate this video.

Wow, this stuff was a godsend! Maguiars wheel and tire cleaner works amazing on not just wood but also stainless steel, ceramic tile, plastic, and metal! I've never seen anything work as well on thick grease that's been caked on for many years! Definitely a great product and this was an amazingly helpful video. Thank you!
  • You are a lifesaver. Meguires is incredible. Thank you so much for finding this gem and for taking the time to make this video and posting it. I have been trying many different products over the years and this one is the answer. And there's very little effort. Thank you again.

ghostses I tried your tire cleaner tip and OMG! I ended up cleaning my range hood, filters and greasy back splash and wow, it was quick and fabulous. I sprayed the cleaner on the filters in the trashcan, used plastic shopping as gloves and a back drop for quick disposal of the greasy trash. Thanks so much for sharing your tip. It inspired me to keep on cleaning and my kitchen is so pretty and cheerful again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have GOT to say, HANDS DOWN, this is the BEST video I have seen in the history of FOREVER!!! I have a house that's over 100 years old and MOST of the moldings is still original, including some around the kitchen! This video is a GODSEND! Thank you so much!

GAME CHANGER!!! We bought a fixer upper as well. Short of replacing the cabinets, which isn’t an option, I was stumped. This is exactly what I was looking for when I googled ‘how to clean and restore kitchen cabinets’. You’re right, in other cabinet videos the cabinets aren’t even dirty...compared to what I’m working with!!! Thank you for sharing.
  • This is the best video on the net I've found. Thank you for taking the time to make this you've helped thousands!

Thank you so much for sharing and for all the warnings. I am in a 34 year old rental, in the degreasing stage before I degloss and paint my cabinets. The insides were all rough particle board too, so I had to vacuum the insides, paint on a thick layer of wood glue, sand them and vacuum again before I start to clean. It’s been very tedious and challenging to figure out how to do this for the first time, but I’m hoping I will be satisfied with the results. I’ll be sharing a tutorial/review of the methods and products as soon as possible and I will include your video to advise people with the same issue. I was originally planning on tackling this with zep citrus degreaser as the amount of grease is less, but I wanted to double check and see if there was a better product to start with. Thanks again, this information is priceless. - Sue

I am so thankful I found this video. I have been restoring my parent's home that was built in 1972 and I sure can relate to the horrible greasy grime build up from years of neglect. My Mother is 89 now and continues to cook so know you understand. Like you, I had tried many products and the TSP took off the stain and varnish which is another issue I have to fix so if you know any companies that mix stain to match aged wood/varnish, I am interested. Meguiar's is so easy and for a bonus I found out the hardware on my cabinets were brass so cleaning them as I go. Feels like a new kitchen.
