Over 10 YEARS of Grease Build Up on Stove Cleaned!! šŸ’„ So Satisfying!

Published 2021-07-18
This is one greasy oven in need of some major TLC. The transformation will amaze you and is so, SO satisfying to watch. It will motivate you to clean your own stove, no matter how clean or dirty it is. Easy off may help, but I have a method that works even better. Warning, wear gloves, wear a mask, work in a ventilated area. This can be harmful to your lungs or skin. OK disclaimer over. But seriously, be careful, we aren't responsible for any harm by using this cleaner. Watch to find out what it is.

When the grease is that thick, step one should be to use a paint scraper to scrape off at least the outermost part. That leaves less to remove, but also it removes the outer skin of the grease and exposes the remaining residue to be more susceptible to chemical cleaners.
  • TIP FOR REMOVING THICK GREASE: I use a heat gun, or steamer, to soften the grease some then use a plastic scraper and it'll scrape right off like sludge, then the cleaner to finish! šŸ™‚

Seeing the conditions he's living in breaks my heart. It makes me think of my departed mother and how hard it was when she was no longer able to take care of herself sufficiently. My heart goes out to that man.
  • @MsArtistwannabe
With that hood being so caked with grease I would think the actual duct would also be caked with grease as well. Could be a fire hazard.
  • @ForGoodnesSake
So satisfying seeing that grease and grime come off. You did a great job and your relative is lucky to have you work so hard to help him get his home clean.
  • @dfnac9704
I read your reply to a comment below and honestly Iā€™m blown away! As someone that hates grime as well you are incredibly generous with your time and labor, as well as with sacrificing personal comfort! I wouldnā€™t be able to stay for long but it just goes to show how dedicated you are!
  • I love using Greased Lightning for that type of sticky grease. I get it at Lowe's or Home Depot... it's amazing at cutting grease, it literally drips off the surface!šŸ˜

You did a great job!šŸ‘ If you're truly obsessed with getting the vent hood clean.... get a drill and a bit with a steel wool ball and a degreaser soap (for cleaning and lubrication). Worst case scenario it'll remove the paint at which point just repaint it. Even hand painted would be an improvement. Again, you've done such a great job. Your elderly relative is blessed to have you help him. Thanks for sharing! šŸ˜Š

you are a blessing to your family. A good example that it doesn't need to be anything extrordinary to help people. a few hours of cleaning can make such a difference in someones life. What a wonderful example to us all.
  • @brendamoon2660
I would love to watch a time lapse of cleaning this whole house
  • I am not a big fan of telling others how they should spend their money (or time), but, I think that a replacement for that stove may be in order. As clean as you got it (and, there is no denying that!), what remains on the sides, and behind the stove, needs to be gotten at. I can see that you are in this for the long haul, and you are helping out family, which is great, so, I wish you the best!
  • @janine7418
That was a fire hazard! So glad you had compassion on him and his situation.
  • Thank you for this Great video. So wonderful and nice that you did this for him. Iā€™m sure he was happy. šŸ˜„šŸ˜„šŸ‘šŸ½šŸ‘šŸ½šŸ‘šŸ½ We all need to check on and take care of the seniors in our family instead of judging them. I would love to see you clean the whole kitchen and rest of the house.
  • @OneWayDesigns
The video title is surely not a click bate, this is sooooooo satisfying to watch!!! I know some people don't like the strong fumes of some cleaning products but you do what you have to do in these extreme conditions. Love your videos!!!!!
  • @happydays1336
It's only a small area but you should be more wary about using several different cleaners in the same area because it could develop some toxic fumes. I know someone whose grandmother died because she mixed ammonia and bleach (I think) and died because of the fumes. I'm cringing hearing the baby because it's a filthy place for him/her to be in.
  • The stove needs to be pulled out. Heaven knows what the back and side wall look like šŸ˜³
  • @kpersons
I cleaned a stove hood that looked in as bad shape as this one. I used a razor blade scraper and it worked wonders on the softened grease.
  • Totally Awesome cleaner from the dollar tree is the best on grease that I've ever used. Had to help a family member in a pinch and I had purchased a bottle on a whim one day we'll before. Out of all the cleaners I brought with me, that was the most effective on the thickest grease. I did not need to leave it set too long either and I was blown away on how it performed. Maybe this will help! Thanks for your videos šŸŒ¼
