It's an unexpected side effect of globalization: problems that once would have stayed local—say, a bank lending out too much money—now have consequences worldwide. But still, countries operate independently, as if alone on the planet. Policy advisor Simon Anholt has dreamed up an unusual scale to get governments thinking outwardly: The Good Country Index. In a riveting and funny talk, he answers the question, "Which country does the most good?" The answer may surprise you (especially if you live in the US or China).

The microphone rubbing on his beard give this whole presentation the unique vinyl touch. Love it :D As a German who has been many times to Ireland working and travelling, I can say: I love Ireland a lot! You deserve it!
  • Visiting Ireland in 2009 I looked around me and The thought that struck me was "This is the most civilized country in the world". Apparently I was right. 🍀 Love you back, Ireland

Not surprised that I haven't seen this man before, as he's obviously well-informed and must be stopped for being a good, intelligent person.

I am so happy to see my country India at 44 Rank. We came at 44 from more than 120 rank, some years ago. We are just 3 positions below the US. I hope my country keeps improving and the rest of countries too. Coz it's only meaningful when all countries improve.
