This is just a quick overview of the Pine Springs Campground in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It is located between Carlsbad, NM and El Paso, TX. It is in a desert environment and is very exposed to the sun and wind.
Take a look around and what the Pine Springs area looks like. As of posting this video, entrance into the park is $5 and campsites are $8 per night.

Another great video on GMNP! I always look forward to your videos and the reviews you do. Looks like it could get quite warm in the summertime at Pine Springs but I love the scenery and if you could get a campsite with some nice trees you'd be set. Great place for a cup of joe and listen to the coyotes in the evening... Thanks again...

Very informative. Just what I was looking for, thanks.
  • Your video helped for my recent 3 night camping at the Pine Springs. I went during Texas Spring Break few weeks ago. For other folks - This camp site is first come, first serve which means whoever "claims" the site has a very good chance of getting the site. Put some stuff at the site and put "Occupied" paper at the camp site post and then pay the fees in cash at the RV site bulletin board mentioned in the video. There is form box. Then go back to tent site and pitch the tent. I got lucky as one of camper was decamping. I asked if I can put a ice box while he was putting away his stuff and me going to pay the fees. It was very good 3 days of hiking. The bad part was high wind that persisted for whole week. The dust was getting into food and inside the tent as the wind had died down when I was pitching the tent. I had to move the tent because of wind later. The tent site has lot of gravels and hard ground. Make sure to bring a mallet and good stakes. Then put some heavy rocks on the stakes and guy lines. Also, pitch the door away from the 2 sides of mountain as the spring wind will blow so much dust into your tent from mountain sides. Also, set outer shell or rainfly close to ground to make sure no air flow from the side from the mountains. There were 4-5 tents that flew away during the day while campers were on the trail. 1 guy had his Nemo fly blown away even with good stakes. My next neighbor had his Coleman dome tent flew away with only stakes.. When he came back from hike at evening he only had his ice cooler at his site. He and his GF had to find lodge at the Carlsbad motel.

I really like your videos, because you show and tell about what where you are at, you also shoot the trail itself ( what kind of ground your gonna be walking on), thanks and keep on keeping on.

A lot of cars but seemed very quiet, also looked very dry and hot there as well, maybe a bit too hot for me, not used to a lot of heat in the North of England. The visitor centre looked good and a nice place to cool off and find out about the wildlife and park. Cheers Alan

Some really beautiful scenery! Thanks so much for taking us along on your adventure! :) I've subbed. I make travel content myself, if you like that kind of thing.

will be going there in a few weeks, this video is very helpful. If the campsites are full can we sleep in the car where hikers park their cars?

For YouTube at least, you seem to be the expert on GMNP. Im an experienced backcountry backpacker, so no worries there. I'm planning on a 3 day 2 night trip in early May, starting at Pine Springs to McKittrick Camp, then past Dog Canyon to Marcus Camp, the back to Pine Springs. Weather records show not much precipitation pretty much all year around. And all the reports I can find say plan on NO sources. I'm not scared of carrying it in, but is there even water available at Dog Canyon Ranger Station? Any advice is much appreciated.
  • the path of the 2023 full eclipes goes right over guadalupe peak. in october..
