  • I like to boil my smoked meat first. Then use the broth as a starter This way I don't overcook my beans and the meat falls off the bones. Yummy

As part of my recovery from cancer and depression I started watching you video when in hospital and now cooking is a major part of my recovery I never did dried beans before but your recipe made it really easy to follow I just served it up for dinner and it came out amazing thank you for your shows you make it so simple you're a good dude

I'm getting my lazy butt up and going to the grocery store...I have to have this NOW!!!! Update: I made them...when I tell you I was in heaven this. I make these all the time but I didn't use the broth or jalapenos. That made a difference, my kids even enjoyed😂😂😂 they wouldn't touch my recipe! Thank you so much💝💝 much love from Vegas!!!

  • @MackeyDeez
Pinto beans over some rice and smoked turkey is definitely on my menu this weekend
  • As someone with 25 years of cooking experience, I really appreciate your simple straightforward approach, it's perfect for teaching people who might be intimidated to get into the kitchen and start making proper fresh meals for themselves or their family. Something that is so important right now as we focus on building those bonds and staying healthy. And, saving money instead of going out all the time. Solid work AB I know you'll get that 1M subs soon!! Now, roll that beautiful bean footage!!
  • I can eat that whole pot of beans. They look seasoned so well. 😋 Love me some beans. Thank you AB !!!!
  • @Jaliesa2007
Just like my granny used to make it!! I wouldn’t eat them when she used ham hocks, but when she started using the smoked turkey, the game changed!!! Much love from Mississippi! ♥️

Made it today after smoking turkey legs for Thanksgiving. This was a hit with my daughters who are already tired of leftovers. I also can appreciate you using healthy alternatives and limiting the salt and speaking on the health reasons why we should be limiting, especially in our communities. Thanks again!
  • I made these last night and they were soooooo delicious. The whole pot was gone for dinner. Great recipe.

Well AB, I did end up making this, didn't have the pinto beans I thought I had. Since my bean bin was full, thought I should use what I had on hand. Ended up using baby lima beans. A tasty bean, but doesn't take as long to cook as pintos. It's only me eating them, so cut the recipe in half. Delicious. Next time pintos. I mostly use pintos in my grandmother's minestrone, from the Milan / Genova area of Italy. So good. Love your videos, thanks for sharing. Love your attitude AB, just honest good guy.

When I'm trying to decide what to make for my wifey for super, this channel is my go to channel . My wifey thinks I'm a great cook with great ideas,...I don't think I'm LYING to her by not telling her about my sources,...😁😁😁
  • Was rased on pinto beans and ham hocks fried taters and cornbread Sweet Now I will make some this week stay cooking AB

Everybody probably knows that if you do the quick method with the beans you have to drain and rinse the beans before you cook the beans. My mom taught me to boil my seasoning meat before adding beans, peas and greens then keep the broth. From there, add chicken broth or water. Additionally, if you use a non-processed salt like Celtic Sea Salt, Gray Sea Salt or Sel Gris, it adds the saltiness you need and adds flavor. You can even add this salt after the dish is done. This dish looks good. Thanks for sharing.
  • I live I. Kentucky, it’s 7 in the morning and I’m going to make this. As my grandma wold say, “it’s sopped up”, lol . Much love ❤️🦍
  • @lindabrown6704
Tip: cook your smoke turkey in water in a crock pot for several hours before adding to your beans and your greens. The meat will be tender. The juice is seasoned and can be added to the pot.
