Brock Purdy throws TD to CMC, crowd chants his name, & his dad gets emotional

When your name is chanted in celebration, you have gained an incredible achievement in sports

Mann.. can you imagine watching your son, drafted last overall, lead a team to a 21 point lead after tossing a dime for a TD, & then hear your last name chanted by thousands? Yea, id be emotional as well

His first career start in the nfl, beats the legend Brady, has the crowd cheer his name, makes his dad proud and tear up. This kid is gonna remember this night for a long time

I had tears in my eyes for this guy. Even if it's a fluke or a flash in the pan, this is gonna be a lifetime moment for him.

Not a 49ers fan, but this is one of the most heartwarming moments I've seen this season.

As a father I can't imagine a greater feeling in world than watching your boy succeed and getting the recognition he deserves all in front of your eyes. That father can die a happy man now.

Imagine the long shot of your son being a QB in the league after all the practices. Getting luckily picked last. Then hearing your last name chanted inside a stadium. Chills must be unreal

Love proud dad moments. It's an incredible feeling as a parent/father. Mine was my little boy beating cancer finally but I think I was most proud that he never let it get him down. Not the cancer, not the chemo, nothing was going to break him. He became my inspiration in life as I'm sure this man's son is to him.

I’m just rolling at that frame of Brady on the bench looking like “The hell is this guy and why is he kicking my ass so soundly?”

I cannot even begin to describe how exciting this is as an ISU fan. He deserves it so much

Man so heartwarming. Brock goes from being the last pick in the NFL draft to starting in the middle of the season and beating Tom Brady. That’s the definition of a childhood dream.

The Purdy family shot is the best moment I've seen in the NFL in a long time. Congratulations mom and dad.

This hit me as a father for sure. Son drafted Mr. irrelevant and the Niners Crowd chanting YOUR OWN LAST NAME. Unbelievable. Way to step up! Cardinals fan here.

Purdy brings an underdog humble mentality to this team and he’s been so impressive so far. I’m rooting for this guy as a Ravens fan.

And today October 11, 2023 STILL kicking ASS and making Dad proud. Last pick in the draft to. Hats off to the 49rs for seeing something and taking a shot on Brock and its paying off. Curt Warner, VERY similar story line and Tom Brady. All three long shots. Brock just needs to win a couple Super Bowls. If he stays he healthy, I think this year could be it for them. 49rs folded like a cheaf suit after Brock got hurt last year at Philly. This kid is FOR REAL. Smart, great teammate, handles pressure VERY well for a rookie. INCREDIBLE story. Great kid to, you can just tell he's rock solid between the ears. Same as Curt and Tom were, so MENTALLY TOUGH high character guys 🙂

I can’t believe I’m saying this but… he might genuinely be the best rookie QB this season Edit: yes, I’m aware the sample size is minuscule and the bar set by other rookies is quite low. But even then, you just can’t not appreciate a Mr. Irrelevant accomplishing this. And as a reminder, Trey Lance had this same roster minus CMAC but hasn’t had a game like Purdy’s first two. I’d obviously bet against him becoming the best QB of the draft class after 10 years, but after 1 year? That’s a different story.
