When I have a difficult pan to wash, I remember what my 1st mother in law said. I put water in pan with or without soap & put it back on stove & turn burner back on. When it boils, I use a spatula to lossen up whatā€™s not coming out. I also do this when Iā€™m making gravy out of pan drippings. Same principle.

I was a Dawn purest for years. I wash my dishes by hand. I have a dish washer but I donā€™t use it much. I could tell that they changed the formula on Dawn because I kept having to use more and more and it still wasnā€™t doing the job. I found a bottle of Palmolive Oxi on clearance at Dollar General and tried it. I love it!! I only have to use a small amount in my dishwater and it suds up and cuts the grease so Iā€™m sold! Also people just donā€™t seem to grasp the fact that using very hot water in dirty pans with a drop of detergent and letting it soak for a bit will do the trick. You donā€™t need any special cleaners. I even wash my counters and stove with my clean dish water before I put my dishes in. I donā€™t buy any special cleaners. People spend way too much money on cleaners.

Try just water and bring it to a boil and wipe it out. It works great

I hired a lady to help clean my house. She mostly uses Dawn Dish Soap (not power wash) for cleaning. She refilled my Dawn Power Wash bottle for me with Dawn, some rubbing alcohol, and water. LOL I love her! But I like the spayer because the soap distributes better.
  • I use the plastic credit cards you get in the mail or gift cards and use them to scrape yuk off. Free and they last a long time. Plus they are flexible.
  • I use Dawn just the regular one for many things. When I do dishes and have a dirty pan I soak it with plain hot water while I do the rest of the dishes. By the time the rest of dishes are done the pan is easy to clean.šŸ˜Š

I use the powerwash for everything. It works pretty good for most stuff.

We only had Dawn at home so that was all I would ever buy. Last couple of years it seems to be less potent and takes more of the "ultra" to do what it used to. Thanks for showing that the Walmart knockoff works just as well!

My sister gave me a kit of Dawn Powerwash. I detest the smell and see no difference in its cleaning power. I thought maybe my well water had changed as I was using more and more Dawn. Last week I found two bottles of Dawn Original in my basement. Too bad they were small bottles. Nope, not my water! One squirt did the job! Over 50 years ago an elderly neighbor shared -- when food sticks or burns to the pan, sprinkle a little table salt, add water and bring to a boil on the stove--food will literally lift right off. Works like a charm!

I like the regular Dawn dish detergent, or an equivalent, for cleaning greasy cookware. Remember, this is what is used to clean fowl and wildlife after oil spills. It is also part of the formula (Dawn, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide) recommended for cleaning pets if they are sprayed by a skunk because the skunk spray is oil based. I never use the straight stainless steel pads on anything, even my good stainless steel pans; I will use those soap pads occasionally. You can also use rolled up aluminum foil to clean stainless or other metal cookware. Bon Ami or Bar Keepers Friend powders keep stainless steel looking beautiful, especially if you hang your nice cookware on a pot rack. I use them with a soft pad, inside and out of the pan, after I have cleaned them. Rinse with hot water and dry with a dish towel. šŸ„°

Wow, lots of work went into making this video! Good job guys! Im a plain Dawn girl. I use it for dishes and most all of my household cleaning needs. I also use it for washing hands in the kitchen and bathroom, by adding just a teaspoon or so of soap and filling the rest of the bottle with water. I guess Ill give the Walmart brand a try next time, just to see how it goes.

I have been mixing about 1Tbsp Walmart blue dish soap and 2 cups of water in my regular spray bottle for a while. Also, if you want a different scent just add a few drops of essential oil. I like peppermint or lemon. I use this on EVERYTHING!
  • I just put water in my pan with dawn, heat it up on the stove while stirring-works very well.
  • Curious: seems like youā€™re speaking extremely fast on this video. Did you add the speed or is it at normal pace. Very odd
  • @ksewald91
I heat the bacon grease pan and get as much of the remaining grease out with a paper towel. After hubby had to rip out all ou '70's kitchen sink plumbing I have been warned to not to put any grease down the drain! I do my best to help. They were totally filled with years of grease! Cooked on eggs are a bear to get off. Soaking works best for me. Ceramic pan is my go to with cooking spray.

  • @ginariehl1227
I think the power wash is such a waste! Just soak a few drops of dawn in hot water
  • @lisaglesil8672
Did you speed up the video? Your voices sounded a bit chipmunk- like. Great content!
