WWF Attitude, the sequel to WWF War Zone, was the last WWF game that Acclaim devleoped and published. Released in 1999 after multiple delays, Attitude was made available for the PS1, N64, GameBoy Color and Sega Dreamcast.

WWF Attitude used the same engine found in War Zone but an expanded roster and a superb amount of match types made the sequel much more appealing. Updates were made to the create a wrestler mode while the single player career was completely changed to give players a much more matches to complete and more championship belts to claim.

This video looks at every version released but the main focus is on the PlayStation 1 version. Also included is a look at the WWF Attitude PS1 Prototype that includes the Blue Blazer costume template.

Creating a wrestler on this game is quite literally one of the highlights of my entire existence and I’m not upset about that in the slightest.

I absolutely love this wrestling game. My late friend and I would always make ourselves as a tag team with ICP paint on and play this to no end until he finally got No Mercy.

I remember my uncle surprising me with it for a present and to this day I remember the ridiculously excited feelings. I remember being at my uncles with it so I couldn't play it tell I got home obviously and I remember just reading the booklet over and over and staring at the back. It's crazy how much excitement warzone and attitude gave me.

LMFAO I'm laughing at Shawn's pre-match promo that was hilarious.

Mark Henry had different music depending if you had "Everyone" or "Teen" selected. If you select "Everyone" it plays his 1997/98 music. If you select "Teen" it plays "Sexual Chocolate"
  • Yo, played this game like it was going out of style... Good times, gents, good times

Adored this game back in the day. Made memory cards overflowing with CAWs, everything from WCW wrestlers to comic book heroes, then my friends and I would set up whole PPVs and Rumble matches and leave all the wrestlers on CPU. It was like getting to book our own federation and then watch it play out, cheering for the CAWs you made and booing the ones you didn't. To this day, the first thing I check in any new wrestling game is if it'll let you set all wrestlers to CPU, in the hopes of recreating that magic.
  • The entrances combined with the CD quality theme music were state of the art I remember it being completely enthralling for me.

When Smackdown came out, I’d seen previews of it in a PS1 magazine and advised my mate not to bother with it and just get Attitude. I still feel guilty 20 years later
  • Coming home after school to see the Attitude cartridge popped in my N64, along with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Box sitting on my shelf, gave me the same joy as when I’d get home and dig into my pillow case full of Halloween candy.

My favorite rasslin game as a kid. I remember my cousin and I huddled around a fat TV constantly pausing and inputting button combos to do moves lol. What a time.
  • WWF Attitude was my 10th birthday gift. Getting to play as The Undertaker on PS1 seemed as if life couldn't get any better as a kid.

Best thing of WWF Attitude was the custom CAW entrance music Acclaim made (something super rare for a wrestling game). Still listen to "Eye of the chicken" even to this day! 🤣 Oh, Legends of Wrestling Showdown was also literally the final game Acclaim ever released too!

Funny thing I always remember about this game was how you could get knocked out for an eternity. 😂 You was liable to never get up from a chair shot if your health was low

Finding out about this language change 22 years later 🤯 Also Shawn Michaels’ promo 😆
  • I had this game for n64. I spent so many hours of my childhood playing and building up my created wrestler.
  • @Medieval_Dead
As an edgy kid, I loved creating wrestlers in this game with their attire covered in profanity. I sunk an absurd amount of time into Attitude.

I love the Rock's deadpanned tone in this game, " if ya smellllllll........."
