Islamic State once occupied a Caliphate roughly equal in size to the United Kingdom, our correspondent Alex Crawford was there to witness its dying days.

As the terror group collapsed, allied forced were faced with the task of dealing with thousands of civilians, as well as IS fighters and their families.
