  • 0:48 there is actually a famous joke in the elder scrolls about kajhiit food. I’m paraphrasing, but I believe it goes something like “why do kahjiit lick their behinds? To get the taste of kajhiit cooking out of their mouth!”

I got the Dungeons and Dragons cookbook from a friend a few months ago. there are some great recipes in it as well as fun lore for the dishes, it seems like something right up your ally if you can find the book.
  • In the game there is a cookbook as well, and I made a soufflé from the cookbook from the game and it was pretty good. Also cool how there were actual recipes in the games cookbook.

My favorite recipe idea from the book was the Ash Yams. Putting goat cheese in a sweet potato was something I never would've thought of, and it not only made me like sweet potatoes but made it so I can ONLY eat them with goat cheese.

I really appreciate how they actually tell some lore behind the races and places before you get to cook, pretty cool.
  • Killing the mudcrab isnt too bad, a good spear right down the mouth will make quick work of them, just be sure to time it right and stay out of the way of those claws, I've seen them snap spears in half...One would assume they could do the same to bone. But all in all, killing it isnt the challenge, no. That would be trying to get IN to the damned thing. That chitins hard as dragonhide! I always dash them open on my anvil at home, but you might not have such luck finding one of those just anywhere. Anyway, I should get back to my work. Watch the skies, traveler.

Your hatred for the mudcrabs just fills me with such joy ^-^ btw, everything looks amazing. I was on the fence about tracking down this darn book and buying it to try it out and I think your review has finalized my decision to go for it! Thank you!

I tried the horker loaf and the seared Nordic barnacles. They’re both great. I need to dig back into the cookbook again. The spice mixtures the cookbook provides are wonderful! I’ve tried them on pork chops and salmon.

I got it last xmass, and loved it! my mom is quite a fan of "simple classic" recipes and she loved it! the yam with cheese one is absolutely adictive

I have this, I collect video game and pop culture cookbooks and this is one of my favorites. All the recipes are good and there's a few that are now on my standard dinner rotation.

Honestly this was a very good review. At first I was skeptical of the cookbook but after watching you cook and eat a couple of recipes and give your honest opinion has convinced me to get this cookbook and enjoy some sweet rolls, also Down With The Thalmor.

The sweet nog is amazing! For the past two Christmases, I've been serving that to the family and it's a huge hit, much better than any other egg nog they've had! The juniper lamb chop is another good recipe, as well as the garlic bread, the sweet roll, and the skooma! I've also tried the mead recipes, and found the Black Briar Mead to be my favorite.
  • Funny! I made the sweetrolls, and my family and I made the Horker Loaf; but we did not do the Hot Mudcrab Dip. However, we did the Argonian Swamp Shrimp Boil. It was delicious~ <3 <3

I've tried the Snowberry Cordial. I can say with certainty that the drinks are definitely worth a try. Also, the Elsweyr Fondue is an extremely tasteful delicacy worth trying as well.
  • @Alan18200
You did a great job cooking those dishes, they looked just like in the book!

I own the book, and honestly? It feels really skewed towards Skyrim lore-wise. And a lot of it was just wrong, too. Like the author had only skimmed over a few Skyrim wiki pages, and made the rest up. But at least it teaches you to make mead, to drink the sorrow about that away.
  • @carelsby
I found this at my library and made the seed/nut bread from it and it was SO good. I loved a lot of the nordic recipes, coming from Scandinavian heritage and remembering my grandma making things like them! I also made the sweet rolls, but i added orange zest to the glaze and that was soooo good

I would love to see more food made from that cook book! Looks so good!

I didn’t even know these cook books existed. Thank you for broadening my mind.
