That session was peak, but damn, do I feel bad for Rahmat. One of the only athletes that showed up to every single comp he could and actually hit insane lifts in every single one. He deserved the olympic spot, but props to Rizki.

rahmat rushed the jerk recovery on his 2nd attempt. then the short rest made the 3rd clean extremely difficult. it was scary to watch him try to not pass out. the bar almost slipped off his shoulders at one point, and he burned way too much energy holding it in the front rack so long. i’m surprised he had enough gas in the tank to even attempt the last jerk.

Good to see Rahmat walk on the podium, even though he didn't win. That last c&j looked bad on his left knee, I hope he isn't injured.

Why on earth did Rahmat rush his 3rd attempt???? Kid barely got 30 seconds rest after the 2nd one, this ain't CrossFit.

It's too bad that only one Indonesian lifter can go, but I feel like Rizski proved he's currently the better lifter. Looking back, Rahmat's chasing of C&J world records and lack of improvement in the snatch and not taking 3 snatches per comp was detrimental to the goal of making it to the Olympics. Not trying to take anything away from either's past or current accomplishments, at their peaks, Rahmat, Riski, and Shi as well are all gold medal contenders and well above their 73kg peers.
