Easily the most exciting rollercoaster at Universal and one of the best in the world. The theming is topnotch from start to finish. You feel like you're at Jurassic Park and the are part of the experiment. The twist and turns are quick and relentless, diving and swooping above and below, but never uncomfortable IMO. That couple-of-second hang time is pretty fun also.
  • Another cool tidbit is when you're walking from the Jurassic park area into the velocicoaster area you can hear the music change to stay current with the franchises. One of my favorite moments

The VelociCoaster was actually my very first roller coaster. It set a very high bar for me, and I loved it. Seeing this video makes me realize how crazy it was for this to be my first!

Its funny that, even though it would have been fully in theme, Velocicoaster's story is one of the rare Universal thrill rides where nothing goes wrong
  • Great video but here’s some other fun facts. Did you know that Universal had already conceptualized this ride way back in 2001? It was gonna be called Raptor Racers which was going to be a part of a phase 2 expansion of the park alongside other ride concepts such as the Mount Krumpit Coaster. For some reason Universal shelved the planned expansion either because of budget issues, poor park attendance, or possibly even because of the September 11 terror attacks which happened the year in which the project was planned. Luckily Universal revived the concept into Velocicoaster and even kept a specific detail from the original concept which was that after going through raptor infested jungles, passengers were going to pass under black lights or projections and see their ride vehicle completely torn up by raptor claw marks before arriving back at the station. Even though this doesn’t happen in Velocicoaster, there is a subtle nod to this idea through a raptor claw mark branding the left side of the first train. Other Easter eggs happen to also come from ride concepts. Originally the ride was going to feature many different dinosaurs from the Jurassic World Films including the T-Rex and even The Indominous Rex. Another dinosaur that was going to be included was going to be the mosasaur which actually would’ve been an animatronic. From the concepts it looks like during the mosasaurus roll, the dinosaur itself would’ve actually popped up under the riders nearly missing them. It would’ve worked similar to how the Jaws shark animatronic works in Hollywood but most likely due to budget or safety reasons it was cut. This was probably the reason why the roll itself is named after the dinosaur.

@VincentVision I love all the attention to details, easter eggs and history you put into the video on VelociCoaster! Thank you, can you please do similar videos of other Universal rides like this? Great job!

Just rode it for my 5th time yesterday. Both of my friends were so scared of coasters but I forced them on. After it they were no longer scared of coaster and said it was one of the best expieriences of their life. There is no coaster like it!

LoL great intro Vincent. The Velocicoaster is one of the best rides,we like Hagrads because of all the dynamic elements to it. But you're not kidding, don't know why they spent the money on seats, you're never in them LoL. Such a great ride. It's so smooth, doesn't bounce your head around like the Hulk does. thanks for going through the queue! We've ridden several times but always go through single rider. Very fun and enjoyable deep dive into the coaster, is this going to a series on the channel?

My favorite rollercoaster! I can only ride it twice in a row, otherwise it’s getting to my head. Thanks for making this interesting video
  • I remember riding it back in 2021 when it had just opened, power walking to it right after the parks opened and right at the top of the hill I remember feeling my whole body floating for seconds that felt like minutes! and I could get a good view of the whole park right before the lap restraint pulled be back into the drop. my favorite coaster so far!

Few things I want to share from VelociCoaster! :) There is Dino Chow bag from the Triceratops encounter hidden inside the paddock and very difficult to see unless pointed out under the second inversion. The Raptors at the Raptor Stables are Delta at Express line side and Echo (not Charlie) at the Stand-by side, they also have their own scent inside that room and on the ride in the first launch scene. The lobby statue of all 4 raptors, the rv behind them is missing a cart(VelociCoaster rvs have 12 rows, the statue rv only 10 rows), and a bunch more of cool details around the VelociCoaster Facility.
