Fibromyalgia (FM) is a medical condition characterised by chronic widespread pain and a heightened pain response to pressure.Other symptoms include tiredness to a degree that normal activities are affected, sleep problems and troubles with memory. Some people also report restless legs syndrome, bowel or bladder problems, numbness and tingling and sensitivity to noise, lights or temperature.Fibromyalgia is frequently associated with depression, anxiety and posttraumatic stress disorder.Other types of chronic pain are also frequently present.

The cause of fibromyalgia is unknown; however, it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors, with each playing a substantial role. The condition runs in families and many genes are believed to be involved.Environmental factors may include psychological stress, trauma and certain infections. The pain appears to result from processes in the central nervous system and the condition is referred to as a "central sensitization syndrome".Fibromyalgia is recognized as a disorder by the US National Institutes of Health and the American College of Rheumatology. There is no specific diagnostic test. Diagnosis involves first ruling out other potential causes and verifying that a set number of symptoms are present.

Who told him the pain doesn’t worsen over time?? It does!
  • It seems the more you get depressed about the pain the more pain you have

I was formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia today after unknowingly living with all of the aspects described in this video for over 10 years. I didn't realise it was 10 years until my Doctor starting going through my medical history, right up to my having an endoscopy last year for constant gastric problems. I thought Fibromyalgia was all mumbo jumbo untik I started reading about it and everything made sense...the pain, sensitivity to light, IBS, joint stiffness, moods, insomnia...

Truly made me sad to read all comments below.. Hope with all my heart someone finds a fixing treatment for fibromyalga, no one should feel the agony of pain.
  • I was diagnosed at 15 and now have to use a walker at 24. I've watched my mums fibro worsen my whole life. Don't you dare claim it doesn't worsen. For some people it may stay the same but even then it's usually after your body progresses to a certain pain and platos. Fibro is progressive and the studies that say otherwise need to talk to real fibro patients.

I am a nurse. I am 36. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis when I was 24, localised to my sacroiliac joints. Over this past year I've noticed my pain has become completely out of control! Literally all my joints, muscles ache constantly! I also have depression and PTSD. This video was so informative. I think I do have fibromyalgia. I seem to have everything symptom. It's so frustrating. Love to you all that are going through similar pain. xxx

my mom has fibromyalgia AND lupus (if you don't know what lupus is look it up.) every single day is extremely hard for her and i can't do anything about it and it makes me feel so fucking useless. her doctors are awful and have been increasing her pain relief medication as well. they're purposefully trying to kill her. i'm literally crying typing this lmfao. i don't usually think about it but i'm extremely stressed because we're supposed to move in a week and my dad is extremely busy with work and can't pack til evening. i can barely help with packing because i get extremely exhausted easily and get back pain easily as well. and of course, my mom isn't able to help either with the condition she's in right now. theres no fucking cure for either of her diseases and it makes me so angry to see that her doctors are not treating her with care and respect. i legit cannot do anything about this. all i can do is feel bad and just hope my mom is able to get her medication and to feel better, nothing else. she's not able to get it until next week and she's trying really hard to get it today but there's no luck. god i just love my fucking life. i hope someone is able to notice this because i literally have no one to fucking vent to. my friends will either not give a shit, won't be able to make me feel better because they're awful at helping or make shit about themselves, or aren't getting along with me. and who does is busy 70% of the time and is offline. i don't have friends in real life either lol. i can only depend on friends online to fucking help me cope with all of the bullshit that goes on in my life. god life is just fucking amazing. yeah anyways thanks for reading if this even gets fucking noticed lmfao.
  • I wish I could find a doctor who will take me serious on this as I have chronic pain, fatigue, moodiness, etc. However all I am told is if I lose weight I will feel better. Well if I felt better maybe I could exercise and lose weight. I've changed my diet drastically and have not lost any weight, nor feel any better.

I cut off the sugar. It was hard few days but couple month later I have no pain. No sugar and walking helps a lot.
