It’s origins can be traced from the Chinese and has since evolved into a regional specialty in different parts of the Philippines. One of the famous spots to get it is in Batangas and we are here to find out what sets Lipa City Panciteria apart from the rest of the ‘lomian’ in the area.

  • My ate who was married to a Lipeño brought me in that panciteria in the 90's. Since then it was one of the dish na talagang ilo-look forward mo whenever you are vacationing. Until i decided to recide here in batangas where i discovered na almost all municipality have their "pambato" with regards to who has the best lomi house. Now i frequent lomi King since i have a daughter studying there in De La Salle and i eat there at least everytime i pick her up from school. There is this some kind of a ritual when eating lomi starting when you order it in the restaurant. They will ask you to be seated, they will hand you condiments and sawsawan ranging from diced onions, toasted garlic, calamansi and sili while the soy sauce bottle are neatly arranged together with the other condiment bottles. Now you will begin the ritual of crushing your sili on a platito then adding some calamansi and toyo and your diced onion and toasted garlic while salivating on the aroma of the lomi being served to you. Thats what makes me come home always. Hopefully you can also feature Gotong Batangas since it also an iconic dish in the province.
  • In the world full of "kami ang pinakamasarap" and "kami ang original", be like this man. 💯 I like how he conveyed that his father shared the recipe for others to learn without sounding boastful and how he embraces the fact that other lomihan are "upgrading" the dish but beautifully showcased how his version differ. 💯💯💯

He’s such an eloquent speaker! Ganda ng cadence ng boses nya, it really holds your attention. Galing ni Kuya, his passion for lomi, his love for family and community really shines through. I wish him the best!
  • @jshu-_-
I didn't even know we had places like this who did everything from scratch. Local tourism is soooo badly promoted, thanks for featuring them.
  • @binkybunsssss
I was born and raised in Batangas and currently living in Manila. It's always nice to see videos featuring places in Batangas. The way we speak is unique and sometimes people from other places would think we're always angry because of the way we talk haha but it's actually part of the way we speak. Great video!
  • 1. Hindi sila madamot ibahagi ang kanilang recipe. 2. Open sila na yung recipe nila ay nagkakaroon ng variations sa ibang mga kainan. Ang galing lang. Mapapa-sana all ka na lang talaga.
  • Most down to earth business owner I’ve seen in a long time. No wonder his business thrives.
  • Kudos to Lomi King! Ganda ng mindset niya overall. You can sense the kindness. 👏
  • One Batangueño way of eating lomi after doing the calamansi, toyo and sili ritual is to use a plate. Since the lomi is super hot when served, (and it tastes best when hot!!), you gotta use a plate and get a few spoonful of lomi first. You can blow it to your desired temp for consumption and eat it from the plate. With this, you always have a hot refill of lomi everytime rather than letting it cool down all at once. Also, in doing this, you are preventing the lomi from being 'malabnaw' since Batangas Lomi is known for being super thick ;) P.s. ask for fried garlic bits and onions too! :) Thank you again for featuring Lomi Batangas! 2 of my favorite lomi houses are Lomi King in Lipa City and Lomian sa Baryo in Pangao, Ibaan. :) love both their original recipe kikiams :)
  • ramdam ko ang pride ni mr. gary sa ambag ng mga magulang nya sa philippine culinary.
  • Legit na kwento to....
  • I was born in Laguna and spent my early childhood there. My father is a native here in Batangas, so I can say I have a barako blood in me. It was during my 5th grade when we moved here and one of the things that my new friends introduced me was lomi. It was not in Lipa though, but one of the lomi house herr in the small town of Mataasnakahoy. But boy it blew me away. It became one of my favorites. Even hit a stage in my life where I'm trying every lomi houses in Lipa way before food vlogs or mukbang was a thing. So thankful for this man who started something that has become part of my life, and thank you FEATR for showcasing amazing people like him.
  • that's the original Chinese Kikiam, meatballs ...I love it..... that's similar to those we ate often in Ongpin, Binondo ....super flavorful and lots of rich ingredients in lomi like in famous Chinese restos in Chinatown.....nobody can beat this Chinese style lomi.....it takes a lot of hard work , techniques to do the fresh noodles originated by the Chinese cooks 💗💗💗💗

  • Ito talaga ang tunay na nagmamahal sa kamyang mga kababayan. Di nya pinagdamot ang kaalaman at proud sya sa naabot ng iba at di nya sinabi na ginaya lang sila. The best!
  • Ang bait - bait ni Sir and very humble. Sana all ay katulad nils..
  • @lugscogs5976
Theirs is the best kikiam I've ever tasted! They wrap it in caulfat which makes it more flavorful. Others use tofu skin. This is absolutely delicious!
