"The resulting superintelligence will not be alien, it will be human, just smarter and wiser." Love that idea. Far from the depictions of hive mind horror in science fiction: collective action and thought can be just as much a method of survival as individual performance.

The last comparison is not a good one because bees are doing things independently, which humans can't do even in swarms. So if humans think in swarms, it does not mean that they can do more than a bee swarm. Quite the opposite, maybe one human can think objectively, but many humans have to argue, and there will always be someone who is against the majority. We will always face the problem of greed, pride, and so on. And this differentiates us from animals

We do to some extend, not as complexly as bees,ants,locust,birds, and fish but to some extend we can come together to form something similar to collective thinking

I don't get how what he described is different than normal statistics.. In fact, he's little ball with the magnets kind of looks like a spider chart graph. But instead of seeing all the percentages, you are left with only the best answer. Though that answer is not concealed in normal charts.
