I don't normally grow these exotic beauties; I normally grow food, herbs, things that we can consume, but not plants that consume other things :). Do you grow the red dragon Venus fly trap outside? If so how has your experience been with that?

So having my venus fly trap sitting in a tray of distilled water all the time is bad (waterlogged)? I'm not sure how to keep it moist without doing this. I tried feeding my fly trap a mealworm (a small one). That was not fun. It kept getting out! Even after closing it kept forcing its way out. It got to the point where when it stuck its head out, I'd use scissors to quickly kill it. IT STILL CRAWLED MOSTLY OUT! so weird to walk by a little while later and just see that dead mealworm mostly sticking out. So frustrating! I felt bad the plant did all that only to lose its meal.

My Venus Flytrap's new traps are closing by itself. I don't know what's going on but they close by itself with nothing in it
