“How do we know he’s not cheating” “Sir he’s better than our engine”
  • According to Carlsonfish, Stockfish had an accuracy of 96% in this game.
  • @guacca
Not gonna lie, learning that chesspanda123 isn't an actual panda that learned how to play chess broke my heart.
  • @typho6279
This proves that Magnus isn't a cheater. If he was cheating, he would be playing way, way worse.
  • Imagine getting a 2850 ELO estimation, and losing by 1000 elo
  • Playing those types of moves are beyond calculation for any human. Magnus played that on pure instinct. His vision and killer instinct are second to none.

3 Magnus videos in a row??? Are we in heaven??
  • also he was explaining every move, reading chat, laughing, not even looking at the screen for half the time. an absolute alien.
  • @jackadams5246
Me when I play pawn e4: "That's right, I'm ELO 4000, Levy said so himself!"
  • The fact that magnus was streaming, talking and joking with chat while playing this game.
  • "The king's house was on fire; he was trying to break out. The bishops, standing guard in front of the windows, accidentally held them shut." What a perfect and incredibly worded metaphor.
  • @Enrryk
The burning king metaphor was brilliant, is crazy to me how i just see a bunch of pieces and you see a story developing in front of you.

Watching Magnus play reminds me of Federer in his prime... casually responding to everything his opponent throws at him before unleashing a disgusting move like d6. Like a ripped backhand down the line, knocking the wind out of his opponent and following up with a devastating, unstoppable checkmate. Simply sublime.
  • I love how brutal the game review makes it sound. "... White overpowered Black in the middlegame". The word suits what happened in the game perfectly. Magnus was simply on another power level and he couldn't be stopped. Not even by someone as strong as their opponent. It perfectly encapsulates how Magnus goes around winning these types of games. An interview I recall where Magnus got annoyed at the reporter, they said something like "you sort of struggled this game, are you worried?" Magnus replied something along the lines of if the opponent doesn't make any mistakes there's nothing he can do about it and that it felt like they were oversimplifying/being disrespectful towards what happens in there during the games. You can't expect him to do this every game, but holy crap it's impressive.
  • It's fantastic to see Magnus play a game like that. Awe inspiring. For a 3 minute time control, once that got past the opening I was actually quite impressed with the way Yu Yangyi responded as black, only to be crushed before getting anywhere near an endgame. I would not be surprised if he had sat there for the next hour thinking "what happened?"
  • @someguy9683
Magnus got an accuracy of 97.4% (probably higher with a better depth of stockfish) in an online 3 minute game, which rivals the WORLD CHESS CHAMPION FINAL GAMES
  • Magnus is a one punch man of our world, the last thing he needs is a robo friend
  • "...but White was on another level." Even Stockfish respects Magnus.
