  • A really neat thing I found out while playing is that when fighting enemies like Treants, Stone Golems, and the weird Venus flytraps, you do slightly more damage when you use the weapon catered to their resource counterpart. Aka using a mace for the stone golem, axes for the treant and sword for the flytrap
  • compulsively sort function is probably one of the best designed QoL thing in this game and all of survival / sandbox games , the thought and detail the devs put into this was really really impressive
  • I love how boss's will fight each other. I randomly experienced that last night when playing. Seeing the flashy skills display by both bosses from the shadows, I waited for one to be down first before I strategically planned to assassinate the survivor. With about 35% hp each, they saw and turned to me, spamming their skills which alerted me to dodge out into the moonlight. And just like that, I was in a FFA match. Granted, they were weakened already, but at the same time, I was only doing 3-6 damage and was heavily out leveled. Regardless, I survived in the FFA and rewarded with two new skills to use while I meant to track another boss all together. What a cool experience.

Here's a useful tip: Any weapon can harvest ALL resources of it's corresponding level. Copper Swords for example can also break down Sulphur Stones. You don't need a mace (it only is 25% faster, that is all), so if you are strapped for reesources, craft the weapon you enjoy, there is no reason to upgrade your entire arsenal.
  • Instead of traveling crazy distances with items, set Teleport Bound Items to false. It's basically an inverted option with a bad naming. It allows you to teleport with items. Saves a lot of trips, though of course you could leave it on if you like not being able to teleport with items. I found it hideously annoying to not be able to teleport with items.
  • A great one with the wolf from you can make AI wolfs fight for you by hitting T near them the will act then as a pack and you the alpha only one note the follow radius for the AI wolfs is really low so play it smart
  • This game has given me waaay more enjoyment than similar games like valheim, the constant accumulation of new powers and the gothic atmosphere really pulls you in
  • i've only seen merideth beat the undead comander once, it's completly based on if the 2 archers she travels with have already been killed before she battle the comander, and if nearby undead are aggroed to assist the comannder.
  • very late to the party here, but don't ignore fishing for a few more reasons... 1) fish oil can be gained from feeding fish to the devourer (hungry recycle bin chest) and is used later in the game to make pristine leather, which you will need a fair bit of especially if playing with friends. 2) fishing is a good way to get recipes when you're trying to find those floors to reduce material costs or the upgraded armor and weapon plans 3) a few fish (goby, rainbow trout, and sage) are fed to prisoners. why do you care about prisoners? well let me explain, you get the jail cell recipe shortly into the Dunley Farmlands, they cost 12 iron to make but it is quite the worthwhile investment as you can store npcs in them, say npcs with high blood qualities... it can be a challenge to get them in however, requiring you to walk a dominated npc all the way home to a cell, but in doing so this allows you to turn 1 npc into a fountain of blood. you feed prisoners the 3 aforementioned fish to increase their health and decrease their misery. misery making prisoners take more damage when you (and this is the kicker) bottle their blood... yes I said bottle their blood. doing so will take a chunk of their health and increase their misery BUT allow you to turn 1 npc with say 100% quality rogue blood into a theoretically infinite amount of 100% rouge blooded vampires IF the prisoners are taken care of. If you couldn't tell I HIGHLY recommend taking prisoners as soon as you can. I typically grab 1 of each type of blood and keep track of their qualities until I get 100% of each blood type but I also feel I may be in the minority there as it is quite a lot of work and sometimes high quality blood comes at very inopportune times.
  • When stone farming, bashing ruins will net you a ton more than normal stone nodes. ✌

Was confused how to go back to vampire form from bear form. Just tap the left ctrl button once and it transforms you out of whichever form you’re in.
  • @KC-bg1th
Copper spear while really good for damage is not good for bossing: You will be locked in one place against bosses that are barely ever stationary. The damage you end up being exposed to far outweighs the potential damage you might get in. The sword — unsurprisingly — is an amazing balanced weapon with its special attack allowing you to get multi hits, while remaining mobile. Against harder bosses BE PATIENT, AND TAKE IT SLOW Don’t fall for the trap of “I’ve done a quarter of his health and he’s only done 1/5th of mine, so I’m good”. Bosses have different phases, which become exponentially more difficult than the start of the fight. Basically, progress throughout the fight isn’t linear.

Hold F to loot, you don't have to spam it
  • @MrMelon-
Thanks for the guide, super helpful! I can't believe how much depth the game has. I feel like i've hardly scratched the surface :_duckLove:
  • @Lintary
Big tip I would give if you start specially on PVE servers, look for decaying castles, on PVE servers it is often just a single door to the hearth and destroying them gives you the ability to loot all of the stored loot as it drops. This can give you a huge leg up and save you a lot of farming time. Personally doing this my issue is more so of a castle full of chest than lacking resources.
  • This is hands down, the best V Rising video I’ve ever seen! 10/10
  • Great tips, I'd already figured out most of them but the ones about the Iron mine bosses and the book cases might come in handy when I'm trying to do solo plays or speed runs without having a group of friends to help me build a large castle with lots of space or to help take down those bosses which can be very difficult to fight solo.
  • @stevehoff
The tip about the chests was worth the watch! Thanks for that!
  • @Sephaizen
    >start the game >immediately run into vampire hunter feels good
