Just means us as consumers we keep getting shafted. Nothing different to Fanatics trying to monopolize trading cards and high caliber player autos….
  • @MrCjmw0980
Exactly with the vintage.. I only PC vintage & only send to SGC. Prices are better & they look better!!!
  • @akasmr5385
Man I hope they don't add a minimum for submissions. I also like how sgc doesn't upcharge cards and they grade autos with no additional costs
  • @RetailRipper
The vintage stuff really has me intrigued going forward to see what happens.
  • @gray6716
I will be mad if they increase sgc prices
  • @MikelineTV
Doing the voiceover in 2024 IS THE new edit for YouTube. I started doing one back in January
  • @toddfrost4353
Just my opinion PSA did this so they can upcharge with sgc now.

In comparing Fanastics to rigging if they have best cards w Breakers... Beckett once was a big price guide to sports cards and magazines yet they started a grading company then and how is that a conflict of interest. But yeah as a guy who just got back a 10 card wrestling submission (for PC btw) from SGC .. it blows and hope PSA don't absorb and make the SGC brand disappear . I did get 6 out of 9 Gem Mint 10s but the thing I like about SGC was it's low grading price and fast turn around time. Don't get me wrong, I have few going to PSA for higher end cards. I love SGC for modern low end low price cards for flippabliity based on price. And I have couple monthly card shows that have SGC as submittors so it is very convenient to submit to them without having to worry about cards getting lost in the mail or damaged on the way to their SGC facliity (the shows are in SoCal) . Hopefully the prices dont' get raised is my main concern.

I was wondering how this could not be shut down being they own so much of the industry already but o well. This hurts because SGC was slowly clawing market shaw which PSA prob noticed. All their pricing and turn around you don't have to buy into a stupid club to get and everything.just really sad, I do not blame SGC ownership though the offer must have been something they could not say no to. I agree they need to come out and say that the same staff are present, just ownership changes. I also pray the slabs do not change because they look 10x better than PSA. I need to send everything in now I guess.

Not that I expect it to happen, but I think this would be a great opportunity for PSA and SGC to truly solidify themselves in genre specific grading (ex. vintage vs. modern or relic vs non relic). I think card grading would benefit from that level of clarity for collectors and give added value to SGC.

Not a vintage collector but I like SGC better. Hopefully they won’t become unaffordable
  • @B-RanBreaks
I feel like these companies don’t give a care about the collectors. I do agree with you that we should all be thankful that Fanatics didn’t buy one of these grading companies, but I think it will eventually happen. Great video!
  • @BroWatchThis
Michael Ruben, chairman of Fanatics has a stake in CGC grading already.
  • @travis9791
I don't really care about resale and really like SGC's tuxedo slabs. I wish their slabs were the same size as PSA though. Is SGC's graders going to start doing grads based on population like PSA? lol
  • People acting like PSA wasn't already the monopoly - they owned 78% of the card grading space BEFORE Acquiring SGC. This move is more about SGC than PSA to be honest. SGC being "ACQUIRED" by PSA could mean minimal changes but also could mean some positive things as well. Time will tell whether positive or negative things happen. When you truly look at the monthly numbers of actual sports card only cards graded - PSA only held a 4.35X over SGC. PSA was losing market share on sports cards especially in PRE-1980s cards over the past several years and PSA lost a lot of customers when PSA shutdown for 10 months during pandemic and SGC kept rocking and rolling.

It'll be separate. I don't see any changes coming. Maybe an updated app that doesn't look or act janky. Lol.
  • @Buster_Chestnut
I bet you a dollar you couldn't name another card that you pulled besides that Wemby. Lol. I was distracted by the topic of discussion and totally forgot to pay attention to the rip. Lol.
