PM-727M CNC Conversion Series
In this video I go over my Enclosure design in Fusion 360 I made a couple additions since the design video. I finally picked up the Enclosure from my local sheet metal shop I was very happy with the work they did. ( Special thanks to Tony and Zack
At Forest Park Sheet Metal)
There were some minor things to do like door hinges and tray slides. So enjoy the video.
I have tried to be as detailed as possible to the point of being informative but not boring. I will try to keep the videos around the 15 minute mark. Please comment and let me know if the content is spot on or you would like more information and details. I will do a complete overview video to conclude the wiring in which I will go thru how the system operates. Thanks for watching , please subscribe, thumbs up if you like the video, and most importantly , Be Safe!

  • I'm in the process of putting together an enclosure using shallow Unistrut framing. We use it at work so I have it on hand. Maybe I'll use aluminum sheet for panels. Nothing as so pretty as this though. Nicely done!
  • Impressive! A very industrial cnc machine center look enclosure. May think that the filter material or sieve are placed down into the tray, all chips can be collected inside the tray immediately... A full enclosure always be an obsolete for machine or workpiece set-up or machine modifications works especially for diy machine and guys. My small router machine is with my diy 32"Lx23"W rise-up type transparent enclosure. By rising it up to different height levels gives different levels of protection and shielding. When it goes most downward, the machine exposes completely. Because the spindle may run at high speed and is noisy, top enclosure cover is also made.
  • Great job Sam! As usual you have looked at all the 'T's and 'I's, crossed and dotted as needed.
  • @russtuff
Fantastic! Sam that's a great looking pan. I'm jealous!
  • Really good work. Love the design and professional finish. The sticker topped it off too. Cheers, Aaron.

Very Nice wish my came out that good !!! keep up doing amazing work.
  • really nice work! on the drain opening, you are definitely going to want to add a drip edge or the coolant is going to bead under the pan edges and possibly start missing the pan. even if it's only a little quarter inch turn down around the opening to keep it from creeping up to the underside of the pan. then just notch the back of the tray to clear the drip edge when it slides in. probably too late to weld it on, bit they make some really good outdoor double sided tape and you could use some angle aluminum or steel and stick it on. hope that helps if you have some leakage issues around that area!
  • Excellent job on the enclosure. Approximately what were your expenses on this?

How are you Sam? happy holidays !!! This is very nice makes me jumping to the roof your pro !! Quick question ; why you didn't use DC 1100 w motor since your BOB can control it through the D.C. Controller? As I am thinking of between going that direction with my mill!
  • @OzyOzySM
I think I will too go with that route ! I found this motor and this VFD MTR-002-3BD36    2Hp  3phase And 56cJNEV-202-H1   For the VFD 2HP  It's just easy to copy my G0602 and wiring the same way! Do you think is better to go with nema 34 1200 oz on the Z axis or go with nema 34 906 oz ? As I am planning to add rotary table to the head and power drawbar system so that extra pounds! But for sure I will add gass strusts, to help get the extra pounds off! Thank you
