Remember that skincare is extremely personal to everybody's skin. What works for me, may not work for you. But I hope my videos give you some good ideas for products, techniques, and Ingredients to try.
Also, I'm obviously not a dermatologist or a doctor, so all opinions on products and anything else I'm presenting, are results and findings from my own experience and research.
And that's why I'm here, to share my research and my findings that go further than what is said on the bottle or Google!
But, everything I present is always a discussion for you to join in with :)
If you have any serious skin concerns, please see a dermatologist/doctor.

I just can’t imagine why anyone would think some of those name brands would suddenly be selling their products for 25% of the price on tik tok or temu
  • @loveit7484
I refuse to shop temu, wish, etc. This dupe culture has eroded my trust. Even in Amazon. And thats sad. Because it ruins it for possible good indie brands. Horrible to loose trust. Sadly, it exploits people with limited means. Good video!

While it’s important that you’re highlighting these fake products, it pisses me off to no end that there’s no accountability for these companies and no liability for Amazon, Temu, etc. This is extremely problematic for the legit companies, but in the end, it’s the consumer who pays the price.

The description of β€œ1990’s Avon” says so much with just two words. I immediately knew exactly what we were dealing with and exactly how much I didn’t want it πŸ’€

First product: lube πŸ˜‚ Second product: dupe? Third product: red-headed step cousin Fourth product: 90s Avon perfume/perfume cream Fifth product: Sean Connery on the label Sixty product: bengay deep heat Seventh Product: doppelganger Eighth product: same scent as a prior product Ninth product: cigarettes and bubble bath Tenth product: genetic perfume Eleven product: no comment Twelfth product: candy floss dupe? Thirteenth product: perfume sunscreen/moisturizer? James I love your descriptions πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

would love to see a 'when beauty turns ugly' video potentially showing the damage some of these products can cause to the skin when used! a few months back i used a fake beauty of joseon serum and got a light chemical burn on my face, so i'm sure there could be some stories out there of some people having it much worse.
  • @AKbaby89
Just FYI for americans (idk if the UK sephora do this or not) all Sephora stores now take empties! You have to take the pumps out, but theyll take any empties it doesnt have to be bought from them or anything. So i save up all my empties and bring them into a Sephora once a month. I live in WA so i cant recycle glass, but they take glass so i love recycling through SephoraπŸ™Œ
  • @laura-xe5le
Eelhoe sounds like a brand name James and Robert would make up in a twin video
  • @squiishiie
UK friends, if you recycle a certain number of beauty empties at your local John Lewis, they will give you a voucher towards your next beauty purchase! They also have a similar scheme for clothes πŸŽ‰

James, you are our bravest soldier. We thank you (and your skin) for your sacrifice πŸ’™πŸ’™

James, yours is the only skin care channel I watch. I truly appreciate the research you do on these products and your willingness to say "I don't know" or "I'm not sure", as well as your considered endorsement when you do know and like something. Also: You have the most beautiful hands! Love from Arizona 😊
  • @vickiejohnson30
The heavy fragrance is used to cover the chemical smell of the cheaper product.
  • @flamingo2603
I enjoyed this video a lot! My Mom always tells me β€œit’s better to pay a little more, but get good products” and that’s so true. James your hair looks so nice 😊
  • @lanky_annie
Respect James for getting within a mile of those dupes ❀
  • @dvara.p
some brands like Cosrx or Glow recipe have such iconic design that when I got this ad for Temu with all of those, it really took me a minute to realize what I'm looking at. cause when I see those labels/shapes, I recognize them immediately, and only in a bit my brain actually turns on to read what the labels say and register that the pricing is off :D anyway, thank you for this video!
  • @ejej1187
lube, toys, muscle relaxants... quite the installment in the James Welsh video franchise
  • @montananerd8244
I've got to take a couple weeks off from makeup & most skincare. It's so hard not to try out an eye look or a mask, so it helps to watch James's videos about all the shenigans in the darker corners of the industry.
  • @domsmom88
That CosRx snail mucin line is so distinct you would definitely know that is a fake if you ever used the real stuff. Every time I put the all in one cream on I have to press my hands together and watch the "strings" form. I don't know why lol
  • Yes! A video on dupes would be so interesting! I'm sure you would be able to add a good perspective on it with your experience and connections.
  • @dawntigga
beautiful and bothered did a podcast on this. Kevin's and Johnny's Sephora stories were WILD
