At this point I'm convinced that you have to come out of the womb with work experience

I just apply anyway. Worst thing they can do is not respond 🤷

I was told by a recruiter to apply to even those jobs. If you can do 75% of what is being asked in day to day operations section, then apply. They can hire on your willingness to learn. Women especially need to practice this cause we tend to not want to apply unless we met 90% of the criteria.

Never apply for a job that doesn't tell you your pay ahead of time. They know their pay is not attractive so they hide it until the last minute knowing most people don't decline after they've been accepted

The jobs listed under the filters for no experience still request 3-5+ years experience 9/10 times. I swear the people writing these listings do it on purpose and I don't get it.
  • I'm convinced that the reason companies list entry level or basic jobs as "5+ years experience" is to stiff candidates in salary negotiations. Along the lines of saying "I'm sorry you don't meet the requirements we can only offer the minimum of the range".
  • Please do a video about switching careers, but maximizing previous experiences, and rejoining the workforce after SAHM, illness, or other life events.

And this is why we lie on our resume and have someone we trust act as a reference

Andy Rooney wrote a short story about a guy he worked with running heavy machinery. He asked him how he got the job. He said he lied about knowing how to run the machines and after about 1/2 hr of fumbling they fired him. Next job he lasted about a week. Next job he pretty much got the basics down.

Even when you put in "no experience" a lot of jobs that come up with that filter STILL require experience! There needs to be a better system.
  • Good info but I always felt that lots of these Google jobs are either fake or often times expired. Excellent info nonetheless

If you need prior work experience for the job, then it isn’t “entry level”.

holy cow i have been looking for like 2 years now and i just found so many jobs i can actually have a chance at 😭🙏
  • @sanjisimp3458
Another thing you can do is find a high turnover job in the field that your looking for, preferably one that is underpaid. Then working for a year to get experience, then getting a job that pays significantly higher

Literally struggling to find a job. Thank you 🙏🏽, I’ll give it a shot.

A great way I got real world experience was applying to none profit companies as a part time volunteer in my field, since it was part time I was able to do 3 at a time and was able to put a bunch of work on my resume. Worked like a charm

Two more options: -Don't pay attention to the experience requirement and apply anyway (most places don't really care about it) -Lie. Come up with some "freelance" experience, you can ask some friend to lie for you and say they were ypur previous employer. Companies/recruiters that ask for stupid shit, don't deserve the respect of being listened or of telling them the truth. You do you.
  • I wish I knew this after graduating with my associates. I felt so defeated and (frankly) duped. I settled for a job at a grocery store because my loan forgiveness period was about to end.
  • @Nuvision19
Means no matter how much experience, you'll get 'entry level' pay
  • @bigrod359
I forgot a step and got thrown into a ceo position
