  • the "don't overcomplicate things; just climb and work on your weaknesses" is SOOO relieving and encouraging. thank you so much for saying that, Mat. really makes me want to practice and get over the overwhelm.

I love how this showed a world class climber falling off boulders and not flashing everything in a gym. Sets real expectations. Even the best can’t flash everything like you see in some videos.

Loving the combo of Josh and Mat they're absolutely jokes

It’s crazy the way Matt grabs holds. Like the second he touches any hold his fingers just do not move a centimeter. It is unreal. He just is so strong and sticky.

“How old were you when you started?” “Sixteen.” “So quite late, then!” And here’s me nearly fifty just starting. 😅

Matt is really good at continuing to try hard after getting through one hard move

My takeaway from this was the spectacular 'your mum' joke.

These two trolls are so entertaining. I don't remember when a video made me laugh out loud the last time, especially not a climbing video lol thanks so much for the joy

I'd love to know how someone gets that good by climbing almost exclusively outdoors with British weather!
  • @salomonkary

Totally agree regarding finger board training for beginners can start early. Great point

I have climbed in three years and im a 6a climber but when he was, so did he 8C! That some good respect!
  • Pro-tip! Always look at a climb before you pull on, so that you can see the little orange foot hold off to the left to make matching nice and easy on boulder #4 (a lesson I still fail to learn regularly).

a friend and I are almost 3 months deep into climbing and we are both climbing now around 6b. this is so inspiring, can’t wait to go train tomorrow

That last climb was a harder battle than the one at Helms Deep
  • The bit about performance anxiety was really great. I suffer quite a bit from it. I get really supernervous when I feel that something could be a send go on a project, to such an extend that I almost dread pulling on and trying something harder that I don't "have to send".
