Traveling Yankee Dryer parked in Erie, PA

This massive Yankee Dryer, a tumbler used to take water out of wood pulp in paper products, arrived by ship in the port of Erie from Sweden, this morning and is traveling, with crews lifting wires and removing obstacles, through nine counties to make it home to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It has taken a year to plan this trip out and it can only travel as fast as 15 miles an hour as the dryer is 600,000 pounds and is 220 feet long and 20 feet tall. The drivers are not allowed to travel at night so here it is, parked outside the old Kmart plaza in Harborcreek, PA
