NJ State Police Ticket Sleeping Truckers At Vince Lombardi Rest Area

It used to say on the side of a police car “ To Serve and Protect” now it says “ To Cite and Collect”

i never got a ticket but i have been woke up and few hundred time and told i had to get out. even telling them i was out of hours and tired. they said they didn't care to get out. and 99% of the time i was parked legally. i wish we had cams back then

Yep happened to me right there. I came all the way from Canada and parked there. Next morning woke up with ticket on the window.

I used to fill up in NJ until Christie raised the fuel tax now it doesn’t pay to do so anymore. That was a pretty good price.

Years ago I had to park at that rest stop but in front of the building next to 3 other trucks. When I woke up, there were cops busting the other drivers because they started on the other end instead of me first. I looked at the one of the cops and he looked at me. He gave to nod to leave, so I left in a hurry. All the other guys got tickets

Boy you sure know your way around Jersey. I remember my very first time in New Jersey, had a 20 foot container on the back and it was late at night and somehow ended up going down the 1-9. What a nightmare that was. I use to run containers into New Jersey 2 to 3 times a week out of Tabernacle Town, better know as Montreal. When I seen the signs for 1-9 in your video it brought some memories for sure. Great video FSC. Have a great and a safe day, happy trails.

I see you entering at 15W heading up to Vince Lombardi Rest Area. The NJ state troopers refer to the rest area as 13S. The troopers can care less about the truckers sleeping on the shoulders of the service area ramps. It's the Turnpike Authority that will not allow it nor allow abandoned vehicles along the shoulders of the entire length of the Pike due to hazardous conditions they cause. Unfortunately, some drivers use the shoulders as open lanes, sleepy drivers drift, and tend to crash into them while on the shoulders.
