I have never seen so many ruined machine tools in my life. But, of course, I bought one anyway!
Be sure to watch this followup video when available.

  • I'm at the age I never buy tools that I need. I just buy tools that I want. I seem to have an iron deficiency. This is one of the best auction videos you have done yet. Someone needs to call the Machine Abuse authority and have them arrested for machine molestation. Thanks for bringing us along.
  • @LNM0000
All that poor old machinery outside 😢
  • Good to see the shop teacher is still up and about. I enjoy watching his videos. They are clean and full of good information.
  • That is so depressing seeing all that good equipment getting mistreated

I’m going to watch the other video now on the cabinet, I can’t wait! Thanks for sharing!
  • @ericcorse
That was one heck of a shop. looking forward to the cabinet opening.

Thanks for taking us with you to the auction . ☺

Good video Pete, I've an Atlas 618 for the last 25 years, it works wonders. It was a block of rust when I got it from a friends garage. Today it's complete with all the original parts, accessories and even a new quick shift post. And still the original motor.
  • I wish I could have been at that auction, although my wife would have shot me because at those prices I would have bought a ton of stuff. I couldn't believe that the old power hacksaw went for only $5! It's worth more than that as yard art! I love auctions like that, much to the chagrin of my wife. I'm 73 years old and I don't need any more tools. However, I still want more tools! Keep these videos coming. . . . Chuck
  • A series on Arlas lathe restoration would be very interesting. Please do so. Show us how to pick the lock on the cabinet.
  • I appreciate your rebellious mood about the trailer licensing. I am sorry Mr. Pete for missing classes for too long. I am pleased to be back again at my desk with pencil and notebook. Congrats on your purchases. It will be fun to see you open the cabinet and work on the lathe. Thanks for another neat video.
  • I have a Craftsman exactly the same. Great little lathe!! The tool post assembly looks different than mine, though. Nice find! Sad to see all the equipment rusting.

Hey Lyle... Always enjoy your auction videos and looking forward to seeing what's in the cabinet... Just gotta be some good stuff in there... How much is too much?? Its all relative. At our age it's all about how much fun did we have... live in the moment and ya can't take it with you. Great video and thanks for being there for us... Russ
  • I greatly enjoy your auction videos. It's sad that some of the things go so cheaply, but it's good that the quality things that you pick up are going to see a continuation of a useful life. Please keep having fun and keep on going to auctions.
  • Hey Mr Pete nice haul I think the money is in the cabinet good luck we can’t wait for the next video on this subject thanks for taking us along
  • As much as I like auctions I am glad that I was not there. I did not see anything I needed but I would have bought something anyway. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
  • @hobbiesrus
I have an Atlas 618, so I am hoping for the best on the cabinet. For that rough 618, I think $150 would gave been my max. More if you luck out on the cabinet!

Good morning Lyle, Excellent adventure and YES, keep going to these auctions. My heart aches for the rusty tools and my pocket of money is burning. I would have overspent on everything. I am glad you have these auctions, it keeps you young and excited. You make my weekends so much better, just waiting to see what videos you post. I will definitely be losing sleep tonight, as my mind will wander, hoping the cabinet is full of goodies. I’m on pins and needles.
