My Favorite Personal Item Bags (For the Airplane)

Published 2020-11-07
Today I will share my favorite personal item bags for the airplane. These are underseat carry-on bags for travel, that counts as personal item that all airlines allow. I will also share my tips and tricks for each bag that help me in the airplane. Many of you ask me about the dimensions allowed for personal item baggage based on your airline luggage requirements. If you fly on Spirit Airlines, I finally found a suitcase that fits under the airplane seat so you do not have to pay those baggage fees. I will show you travel totes, backpacks, personal items bags, weekender bags and the small rolling carry-on suitcases.

Love :yt: DUPBAGY :yt: the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other YouTuber can show off bags in as much detail as you.
  • My favorite carryon personal bag is also the Vera Bradley weekender, holds tons and is lightweight,. I am a pilot mom and enjoy all the airline perks too!
  • @karenb2782
I have the Vera Bradley Weekender bag as well. I just used it on my vacation to Arizona last week. It is perfect, has plenty of pockets, and fits over my carry-on luggage. Thank you for your videos Laurie. They are always terrific and informative.

I appreciate that your videos are packed with so much useful information and that you put links to each item you show. In so many YouTube Videos, the person drones one with irrelevant chatter whereas you are concise and stay on topic. I always learn something from you. Thanks for all the travel tips!
  • I watched a LOT of your videos before heading out on my Florida vacation. Your tips were spot on for getting through airport security easily. I also purchased the personal item bag you use... and it's PERFECT! It was much better than the tote bag I had been using. Thank you for sharing your experiences with all of us non-frequent fliers.
  • I just returned from a trip and used many of your tips! It makes me feel more confident in airports.
  • @THE_Lena
That tip about embedded wheels makes a lot of sense.
  • Dollar tree's cosmetics bags are a great find for colored pencils. I had gotten one and was amazed how well it worked for taking them on the go. I also used one of those binder pouches to make a Valentine's day gift for my adopted mom and she loved it!

I love the PacSafe Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Backpack. Great organizing pockets in both sections of the backpack, the zipper design/opening of the main compartment opens wide, and the anti-theft/security features are awesome.

I bought the flowered version of your striped bag and use it whenever I travel, by plane or by car. I recently bought the newer personal item bag you showed for my husband (no travel yet 🙁). You always have such wonderful suggestions for travel accessories, style, and convenience. We WILL travel again! Thanks for sharing!

Laurie, I have learned so much from your videos over the past 3 years & am so grateful. And I always learn something new with each video; this time it’s the process of elimination. It’s unlikely that I’ll ever be a carryon-only traveler (too old, too short), you’ve helped me to pack much smarter. Thanks so much!
  • @colorsofavon934
You made my trip perfect. I got the TSA Pre-Check & followed your tips, which made all of it a breeze. Best wishes to you & your family.
  • Thanks for all your viedos when COVID lifts I will be flying for the first time have learned so much from your viedos
  • @tonihoward8579
So happy to find you. This is my first to watch of yours. I’ll be watching lots more videos from you.
  • Travelling in London on the tube with a little doggy in tow, I've found a mask chain to be invaluable. Love all your vlogs so helpful. Thank you x
  • @MikeFlatow
I stumbled across your channel and so thrilled. I am 54 hadn't flown since 911 and for work I will be booking travel, cars and hotels for coworkers and taking about 40 domestic flights a year. Oh, and I'm a nervous flyer. I will be devouring your videos. I need all the tricks and backs. It is possible I will check a full case because some trips will be to bring tools to work sites. I'm excited to learn from you and hopefully relax about flying knowing that I will learn everything.
  • @jpbpds
Hey Laurie, the Vera Bradley weekender is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!
