Hear from a patient with a vestibular disorder

Published 2018-09-14
Vestibular disorders aren't well known or well understood. VeDA has made its mission to change that, and we're making a lot of progress, but we need your help!

In this video, you'll hear about what a person with a vestibular disorder goes through and how you can help raise awareness and bring this issue to light!

The answer is out there and we can change so much for so many; all we need to do is get it to them!

I’m now going through this had about with regular vertigo, which I often have usually if I get water in my ears would cause me to have vertigo really bad, but can usually get through it by doing the maneuvers exercise just recently though had double ear infection had a bad bout of vertigo that went away, but then have vertigo that makes me feel like I’m on a constant drunk spell if that makes sense very unbalanced I throw up at least twice a day. I don’t sleep well concentration is hard sometimes starting to affect my mental status makes me depressed. Starts making myself think I’m a hypochondriac thinking. Maybe it’s just in my head, but I know it’s not, I have an appointment to see an ENT which is going to be in six months which is ridiculous. I go for physical therapy to see if that’s gonna help my right ear constantly feels like it is full and I just took FMLA leave from work because of it all I know is that it really stinks to it and I feel sorry for anybody else that’s having to suffer from it. I’m 57 and I can’t drive.
  • Very dear friend of mine has this disorder, and it’s changed her in ways. I can’t even begin to tell you. She’s a fighter and yet sometimes this disorder wins what can friends and family do to help her with her journey? Because as you said, there really isn’t much help for people out there. I would love to know how to get in touch with groups that meet thank you for doing this video and hopefully you’ll get back to me. My friend means a lot to me and I really hate that. She struggles with it.
