Unintentional asmr works so much better. I hate fake whispering and or when people repeatedly make tapping noises or crinkle noises. It only works for me when it occurs naturally. The deepest asmr I ever felt was when I was a kid checking out books at the library (1980s) and the librarian would lick their finger before turning a page and then swipe the bar code of the book with that electronic pen with the red light for a tip. They haven't used those pens in decades.
  • I watched this every night for a year. My back is now 10 feet long and 7 feet wide

I took several classes in Alexander Technique when I was in drama school, and it is not at all as mysterious and cultish as it might appear here. It’s really just about developing good posture, and learning to keep the head, neck, back and hips in proper alignment. It is perfectly harmless, and I found parts of it quite helpful.

Unintentional ASMR is so pure. The classic VHS recording with wired mics. The light talking through each step of their posture program. The light movement of hands on different pieces and textures of clothing. It’s absolutely perfect. What’s really fascinating, amazing and kind of sad; Richard and Elisabeth have probably been passed for 20+ years. Most of the “young people” in this video are in their 50’s and 60’s today. I love looking back in time. This video is a gem. *Edit, I just looked it up. Richard passed away in 1992 at 81 and Elisabeth made it to 2013, passing away at the age of 98! Bless them both*
  • @Agui007
Good grief Elisabeth Walker was 98 when she passed in 2013 but was still giving Alexander lessons! 😮
  • Ahh this is what YouTube is for. It's such a gift that these lessons can be preserved and shared with everyone. Let the neck be free x

"How many times have you watched this video?" Me: Yes.
  • @Kate-xj7ld
I think I’ve done enough with you Dave.

Elisabeth died in 2013 age 94. She was teaching and riding her bicycle around Oxford age 90. Their son Richard is the youngest rider to ever win Badminton Horse trials.
  • @davidgadsby4119
What a fantastic film, Richard is a lovely gentleman, it’s very rare now and reminds of days gone by now.
  • @callum1131
For those wondering what he's actually teaching, it's called Alexander technique: The Alexander technique teaches improved posture and movement, which is believed to help reduce and prevent problems caused by unhelpful habits. During a number of lessons you're taught to be more aware of your body, how to improve poor posture and move more efficiently. Teachers of the Alexander technique believe it helps get rid of tension in your body and relieves problems such as back pain, neck ache, sore shoulders and other musculoskeletal problems. Evidence suggests the technique has the potential to improve certain health conditions, but there are some claims made about the technique that haven't been scientifically tested (Source - NHS)
  • @DavonDepp
This looks a tad bit cult-like but it’s clear he’s helping with posture. Love the unforced asmr and how soothing his voice is. Good save from the 1980s
  • Surely I’m not the only one here for the amazing unintentional ASMR?!
  • 18:10 I love de way she just ignored the shit talk and start to do her real work. ♥️
  • @compdddd
You can tell Dave was in ASMR heaven while being worked on.
  • My first unintentional ASMR I can remember was my Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Young explaining shapes. Over 30 years later and I can remember her sitting across the desk pointing at the shape and me just 🙂
  • @Zippy177
I watch/listen to this most nights as I find it so relaxing and fall asleep quickly. But- if I start on the comments I’ve had it 😂😂
