  • Being a minimalist has changed my life. Unless you’ve experienced this you won’t believe me. I now use the one in one out method. I never want to have to declutter large amounts of things again.
  • I have decluttered so much in the last couple of years & wow it’s so much easier! My old system was me trying to organize chaos.

I don't consider myself a minimalist by any means but I have in the last few years decluttered so much. It just makes life so much easier. It is an ongoing process for sure and I am very intentional what I bring into our home now. My only regret is not doing this earlier in life when we were raising our daughter. Although I am happy she has seen the benefit at 27 raising her own family.

If you would put 2-4 bins under your bathroom sink, it would be so much more organized, and taking things out to get ready or clean would be a lot easier than removing each bottle one at a time. Minimal Mom and Clutterbug taught me to turn a shelf into a drawer by adding bins.
  • If would be a rockstar if I could get my under sink cabinet in the bathroom like yours!!

I have a health record notebook. It has all immunizations and test results in pockets. I made a document I add to with each Dr visit or illness. I created a document for meds that worked per lines and a cholesterol/blood sugar history per test. I flagged all major things. I once brought it to a Dr visit and my Dr almost passed out. lol.
  • Years ago, my Mom gave me a Fabulous KitchenAid Mixer. I think in 20 years I have used it MAYBE 5 times. It's such a heavy thing to pull out of the cabinet, I just mixed things with spoon or fork. Mom passed away in 2022. I still find myself conflicted about decluttering the mixer.... I mean, it's like $400+usd mixer! 😞

Last year I tackled our paperwork and reduced it by so much! We have a two drawer filing cabinet that was so full. Now it's organized (top drawer - important files, bottom drawer - everything not files). Yesterday I actually decided to make a pass through it and got rid of some paperwork I didn't need any longer, put my eyes on things that after tax season next year, I won't need any longer and took a whole bunch of green hanging folders (I don't use those anymore) that were stored and put them into the donate box. It wasn't a huge amount of things, but updating the decluttering is as important as doing it the first time.
  • I’m ready to go through our house again about 15 months after moving. Now I can see what we use in our new location and lifestyle. I’m looking forward to asking the questions you suggest.

I've been following you, Dawn, Dana, Cass, Shannon and others for years... but I just moved and found out I'm not nearly as minimal as I want to be! I downsized, so this is quite expected but WOW. Next level! Thank you for touching on boxes, clothing and paper because I am SO living there right now!! Love you and thanks for powering through your recent channel tribulations 💖💫
  • Funny. I'm about to tackle my garage clutter today🤔🙃 and arguing with myself: where to start. Read: pocrastinating😇. You mentioned we have short term, long term and temporary stuff in the garage.Never looked at it that way. That might help🙏 together with some Swedish death cleaning🙋🇳🇱

Yeah, you never want to get rid of that cat.❤ I had a friend who had a big house. And every time she saw a stray cat, she would feed it.And if it was skinny and malnourished she would take care of it so she had a problem with maximizing her animalshe had a total of sixteen cats.😮 Well , that's one person that had to Declutter cats😅

I could never handle having stuff that is not in containers under the bathroom sink and I could never have it so that on the side. I have bathroom cleaners and then I have makeup. Everything to me has to be in a clear container under the sink. Or it falls. Or it gets mixed up and you're constantly looking for the product because you cannot always keep things organized under the Bathroom sink, but if you have a container that is clear. And you can put your makeup in that or your hair product in that separate from your husband's stuff. Then that would work for me. Cause I cannot handle looking at your under the sink bathroom😮 But they say that whatever works for that person that's different than what works for you

Also life has changed so much. We can’t bring homemade treats to school anymore with allergies and food diversity 😒 As a Canadian we have 4 seasons , but it’s actually 2/brutally hot in summer and freezing in winter. The Canadian tuxedo is in my dna even tho the weather never suits my denim jacket lol

I am really good at dressing other people and they look remarkable. I can pick out a outfit and tell the person to go try it on and then they come out and they buy it. And that's what I love doing.But. Unfortunately I cannot do it for myself.I am so terrible at dressing myself. I really don't look good at anything that I buy until I did one saying that I never thought of doing and it's working. I'll go into a store and I'll try a dress on or a pair of pants or something and I'll look in the mirror and I'll say, well, that looks okay, I might want to buy that, but before I do that, I ask the woman in the change room, if she would. Take a picture of me. And? I ask her to take a picture of me front and back and sigh of the item that I am wearing. And then I look at the pictures the picture that she took of me. And my mind quickly changes from lovely.Oh doesn't that look so good on you to YUCK, why would I ever want to wear that? That looks terrible on me. But at home if I Can't figure out if I should keep the dress or keep the pants or keep the shoes.I ask someone to take a picture of me.But this time it's not in the store. It's at home. And? The best way of doing that is not standing close to me but about five feet away. And then that is where I can determine whether I keep the item or not. I have a dress that I thought looks so good on me.And after my friend took a picture of me on the side in the front and around the back I just almost up chucked.😅 I says I'm getting rid of that thing. Why would I even have it sitting in my closet all these years, and why did anybody tell me that I look so terrible in it. And usually it's because people don't want to hurt your feelings so they don't tell you right To your face that the item looks terrible on you. Another thing I do with my clothing is.I'll take it and look at it and Immediately whatever sought , that comes to my mind about that dress or about those pants is what I stick to. I cannot handle saying to myself. What if I lose some weight? What if I put a different sweater on top of this? It's the instant feeling and the instant thought that I stick with. When you're looking at your clothes, do not second.Guess yourself if the instant thought is you hate ithen don't keep it. Whatever comes to your mind , first , stay with it. We spend too much time over thinking.
