[Chorus]:
I'm sure my critics will say it's a grotesque display
Well, they can bite me, baby—I perform this way!
I might be wearing Swiss cheese or may be covered with bees
It doesn't mean I'm crazy—I perform this way!

  • Lady Gaga fired her agent because he didn't tell her that Weird Al asked permission to make a parody of "Born This Way". Instead of going to her with the request, her agent lied to Al and said she said he wasn't allowed. So instead of adding it to his new CD, he simply made a music video for fun, but this meant the song couldn't be bought. Al also said the proceeds would go to charity, which is likely why the agent told him no. Gaga got so angry she formally apologized to Al and made sure it was the first song on his new CD. :)

Being parodied by weird al yankovic is like a huge compliment and honour.

This feels like both a parody and a tribute to Gaga. Al is amazing!

I'm ashamed to say it took me MUCH longer than it should have to realize that Weird Al's face was superimposed over a female's body. In my defense, it was extraordinarily well done, very strange, and, funny, and, it's been quite a while since I've seen one looking that good, myself!

"I'm Frankenstein. I'm Avatar." No matter how many times I watch this, that part always kills me.

The French part is totally funny. At 1:47 “Excusez-moi : qui a pété” means : “Excuse-me: who farted?”

Aside from the fact that this song is a perfect parody on all counts, the video is brilliant. The woman cast as the body double did an amazing performance and deserves way more credit from the fans for the work she did bringing this outlandish character to life on screen. Props!💃

What I love about this - OK, one of the many things I love - is that it's literally impossible to tell which of these are real Gaga outfits and which ones Al made up. The only exception is the live bees, but even then I wouldn't put it past her.

I love Weird Al because not only is he clever, but he is very legit to the people he parodies, he isn't a jerk. :)

"I'll be troll, I'll be an evil queen, I'll be a human jelly bean" I can't stop laughing
  • @normende
Al's female body deserves an Academy award or an Emmy!
  • @Kiljoy_
He doesn't have to ask permission, he just does ask to be polite and keep in good standings. He's the greatest artist ever

Weird Al deserves every penny he’s ever made. He’s a comical and musical genius. If I were a music celebrity, I would hope he parodies me someday.
  • @Matt9999mr
you are not Famous till you have been parodied by Al
  • @josephfrank1472
I can see Lady Gaga laughing through this whole song when she saw it!
  • @Bjarkenb
I lost it at "Everyday is Halloween"
  • Weird Al's genius lies in making parodies that aren't just funny, but amazing social commentaries as well. "Word Crimes", " Foil" and "Perform this way" all have subtle yet profound commentaries on our society, and this makes his work so amazing and refreshing.
