I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!

Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

Thanks for watching!

  • It's worth noting that this list reads like a who's who of great 21st century directors: Fincher, PTA, Guillermo, Villeneuve, Lanthimos, etc. ANOTHER superb collection Darren.
  • The Killing of a Sacred Deer gives me such a sense of dread...but it still intrigues the heck out of me!
  • "Incident in a Ghostland" "The lodge", and "The killing of a sacred deer" were a couple of my favorite movies when traveling nursing. Weird, but also well done and the creepiness draws you in.
  • love with what you did to your branding! down to the visuals and music - this channel keeps getting better and better
  • This is the list I need! Thank you so much for another great set of recommendations.
  • Darren looking like a cartel member straight out of Refn's Too Old To Die Young with that shirt. Go on wit ya bad self ;)
  • I really appreciate what you do! Your videos are all edited really well, i like the lights in the background and the studio always looks badass. Most important thing for me is that you put the list in the comments or description!!!! Recommendations are spot on! DVD is THAT movie guy! I promise
  • Man your lists are so good,i didn't realize half an hour passed so fast.
  • I have to say it again, the way you review movies is so difficult, almost impossible, yet you pull it off fantastically. You show just enough clips, describe the plot without spoiling the movie and somehow still leave it up to me because you never directly give your opinion. That is not easy to do. Very well done and your selections are almost dead on perfect picks. I hope you continue. I would like to maybe see some tubi reviews, I realize your time is limited as it is, but if you could squeeze a few in once in a while that would be great. Keep up the good work. Best channel on YouTube.
  • Great movie list and the editing and music of your video is awesome too. I've watched all in the Top 10, except for The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which looks amazing. That being said, Enemy is a gem of a movie, and I couldn't agree more on how it is like a puzzle and you spend days later on still thinking about it. Do you have a list of movies like this? Some of my favorites in that "puzzle" category would be Mulholland Dr., Arrival, Lost Highway, Inception. Cheers!
  • Absolutely my favorite list you’ve ever done!! Many I’ve seen, loved and recommended myself- and others I absolutely cannot wait to see!! I know you recently talked about the Lighthouse but man is that a Weird movie, as on par with David Lynch’s Eraserhead! Too bad not at least an honorable mention! As always thanks, man, I’m sure I will update a couple new favorites after I watch some great sounding picks- The Lobster first up! (Gotta say, was so blown away a while back watching The Invitation, the way grief warps you and changes your thinking, and I’m talking about severe, seeing your child die grief that destroys marriages and vital parts of yourself that just makes something like a dinner party with an ex feel odd, off kilter, then feel stupid, they just NAIL it perfectly excellent pick)
  • THANK YOU to all the Patreon supporters!! Flick Connection is awesome. Darren is spot-on with his recommendations and ive been a subscriber for over a year now. ( I rarely subscribe to anything on YouTube unless its my family's channel)
  • The spaghetti eating scene from The Killing of Sacred Deer was sooo uncomfortable and I have a high tolerance for uncomfortable and weird shit in movies.
  • OMG I've just watched this video of the back off what's coming in Jan 2021 and you have managed to highlight 3 of my most favourite movies. The circle (what a great surprise this movie was, I couldn't stop watching it), Mr Right (whoever thought dating could be so wrong and so right at the same time), and also my #no. 1 Pan's labyrinth (the two intertwined stories are you just the most superb film making ever undertaken). I so love your recommendations so keep up the awesome job.
  • @Pemulis1
Rocking list. Everything on it I've seen is good, and a couple, like Enemy and The Bad Batch are just weirdly, unexpectedly great. I've been looking forward to Sacred Deer for a long time. I think I'm gonna save it for this weekend. And I think I'll re-watch Pan's Labyrinth. And if I get a little baked this weekend (it's 50/50) I think a re-watch of The Bad Batch might be in order. BTW I didn't see that shirt you're wearing in your merch. It's a great shirt, and looks like about as far as I want to go as far as dressing up for Halloween (though it's a cool enough shirt to wear anywhere).
  • Good job with this one!! 👏 some fantastic, mostly unknown gems in there! Girl on the third floor might be one of my fave films. Yay!
  • Thank you for all your hard work Darren. I actually haven't seen a few of these. Sam Rockwell is one of my favorite actors as well. So versatile. Also huge thank you to the patreons!
  • I watched Wicker Man in a theater when it came out and was completely weirded out by it. It took me several days to get it out of my head. I am tempted to watch it again to see if it has the same effect on me considering what we have been going through recently.
