Great video and compassion, this really highlights the vintage vibe of that Jensen Jet 10” (love it or hate it, its unique and part of the classic Princeton signature). The 12” is a great speaker also but can be found in other Carr models - always delivers/sounds great and doesn’t get in the way of the amp - more full range/polished and hifi. I have tried swapping a Tone Tubby 10” Alnico Red into my Sportsman and it sounded great too (more bass for sure) but wanted higher volume to come alive. I went back to the 10” jensen as it just had more mojo at low to medium volumes. All great - its good to have options! Thanks for your contributions!

10" sounded better to my ears for recording for sure. Probably a better speaker match but I bet with a neck pickup the deeper and fuller tones of the 12" is preferred in a room setting.

I appreciate the effort. I was surprised at the differences between the 2 speakers. I've heard criticism of the Eminence, and here it was quieter, less articulate, and muffled, compared to the Jensen, more mid-range oriented, almost like there was a blanket over it, by comparison. I assume the amps were similarly mic'd, placement, etc. While the Jensen was brighter and more pleasing to me, it also appeared to be a "gainier" sound (like the gain was turned up higher, causing earlier break up), which meant a loss of clear headroom at that volume level. Forced to choose, I'd go with the 10" here, but I wasn't knocked out by either, and I generally like the Sportsman. It could be that I'm responding to the fact that the controls, set "neutral" for both amps, weren't optimized for the guitar. Thanks again for the demo.

Is that the American 60s tele? How do you like that compared to the professional series? My only hangup is the heel truss rod adjustment.
