She's literally the only actress ever playing a teenager that actually looks the age of her character
  • @rorydiane7094
She actually looks 16! I remember always thinking the actress who plays her looked way older
  • @littleadventurer
She can passed for 16 going on 17...but he's definitely nowhere near 17 going 18. More like 30 going on 31

I LOVE her Liesel she shows the stubborn and cheeky side of her in the performance. She looks shy but confident. She is an amazing singer and actress. I love it! You can really see the chemistry between the two as well! They have complete trust in each other while still looking in love.

The actor they got to play Rolf is so good. Definitely the best live singer here, you can tell he's done musical theater before.

Everybody: nothing Rolf being not 17: hOw dO yOu dO fElLow kIdS

Everybody's talking about the guy's age, but what's really underrated here is that they did all this on an uneven surface full of fake trees, vegetation, and rocks. One false step could have scuttled the whole performance, particularly when he leaped from the top of the "hill" to the bottom of the "hill" and she pirouetted on a "rock."

I'm more bothered by the shorts he's wearing than his age. The movie has spoiled me.
  • @EthalaRide
This reads so much more as a College TA seducing a dual-enrollment high schooler. While wearing shorts Fantastic dancing tho!

I like how in this version the actor playing Rolf is obviously so much older than Liesl. Really makes you think how creepy he is.
  • Rolf: ".... I am 30, going on 35 ..." Reminds me of the scene on Friends where Joey asks if he can pass as a 19 year old. Joey: "So you’re playing a little Playstation, huh? That’s whack! Playstation is whack! ‘Sup with the whack Playstation, ‘sup?! Huh? Come on, am I 19 or what?!"

Ariane Rinehart was without a doubt the standout performer in this version of the musical.
  • "You need someone older to take care of you." "But we're basically the same age. If your birthday is after mine, then we'll literally be the same age for a while." "Why are you getting caught up in semantics?!" "Why are you using straw man arguments to be with me when it's obvious I already like you?" Yeah, their break up was for the best.

This has always been my favourite song of the musical since I was 6... and I remember wanting to be 16 or 17 to be able to sing it accordingly to my age :P now I'm 33 going on 34 and it's still my fave... and now I remember what it was being 6 and 16 and 17... wow
  • I kind of shipped them when I was 8 I was very wrong And yes, I watched Sound of Music since I was 6 or something
