MIDSIZE OFF ROAD BATTLE - 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor vs 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison

I picked up a ranger raptor last week and absolutely love it. Test drove a 23 ZR2 and an AT4X and they are cool trucks. But the main deciding factor for me was the power the raptor has. The ZR2 feels super sluggish when compared to the twin turbo ranger raptor. Traded in a 22 ZR2 for the ranger.

Both are better than 2024 Tacoma.

Both are good but save 10k plus and get a normal ZR2

I’ll take the Raptor. Personally (while looks are subjective), I think it looks equally as good as the ZR2 and it has a V6. I just can’t accept having a turbo 4 in a midsize truck.

I plan to put 35's on my ranger raptor so I think that will make it more even with bison.

Bison looks like the Engineers were employed by the people who made the Transformer movies.

I own a new Ranger Raptor, but I am really a V8 guy, so neither of these trucks sound all that good. If any vehicle is not rocking a V8 under the hood, I would prefer it stay more on the muted side of things. I do prefer the styling of the Ranger Raptor. I do like the looks of the AEV wheels and tires on the Zr2 Bison. I especially like the interior comfort of the Ranger Raptor. I have not driven the new Zr2, but I owned a 2019 Bison Zr2 and seats were pretty firm, not near as comfortable as the Ranger Raptor seats. The Ranger Raptor also rides a bit smoother then my old Zr2.

The price difference is so large, I don't see this as a true competition. The value of the Ranger Raptor is far superior as an all-around "truck".

I went for the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and to be honest I love it. It looks like a trophy truck, Chevrolet made it look great and AEV gave it the durability it will need. I've been a fan of AEV vehicles for a long time and so my tendency is to drift in that direction.

Love the Raptor interior...but I'm most likely going with the ZR2, but the non bison...the spare tire in the bed, not only are you losing space, but it's a theft target...both are great looking trucks though...

Zr2 looks more aggressive!

I’m a ford guy but the Chevy looks great. Not sure if I’d put 35’s on a 4 cylinder however

Zr2 has more tq, its a truck..if it concerns you, line em up.

I think the zr2 is better value but the ford provides more of a sense of occasion. With the larger and more powerful engine. I have driven a zr2 and it was alright but I think I’d prefer the handling on the ranger raptor. Basically I want a truck that can go racing and the ford does that better. But the zr2 is crazy value. Better features such as cameras that allow you to see under the truck, heated and cooled seats. Plus it’s a rock climbing Billy goat of a vehicle.

Ranger hp is higher but the torque is identical at 430. If you're buying either for the exhaust note save your money, neither is a V8
