For my PC slabs I prefer SGC, that black border helps the cards stand out. I hope this isn't a net negative.
  • I’ve been on the buyee side of corporate mergers. At first the buyer says you can keep operating business as usual. But over time, sooner rather than later, the buyee’s business practices exactly mirror the purchaser’s business and the old company is essentially no more.

Agree with your points. Collectors Universe recognized SGC and bought them with reason. They could have bought others instead but chose SGC. Congrats to both companies
  • Follow up from Joe… just had a long talk with our rep from SGC and they are very excited about the sale and look forward to great days ahead for both PSA and SGC.
  • Love hearing yall's thoughts. Interested to see how this all plays out!
  • Interesting point raised on how this will impact the value of the SGC slab moving forward. Lot of opinions today that this may have been a move to block Fanatics? Quite an interesting day with this news, but it will be interesting to see where this all goes and it may take a while to get there.

Ironic thing about PSA graded cards supposedly having a higher market value....3 highest priced cards ever sold at auction? Graded by SGC.
  • @ryanra44
If you just look at sports cards graded by PSA and SGC each month. It is much closer. Usually 4-5x. It’s the TCG that makes it look so skewed.
  • @Akho21570
Buying up competition to monopolize the market. Watch the grading prices jump up very soon.
  • Analogous to parent GM offering both Chevy and GMC trucks. Two distinct brands with common parent ownership?
  • @Joe-cf3vo
I think it’s to secure the market that PSA already has a commanding share. SGC was ranked 2. SGC my guess will help PSA grade cards when PSA are an over capacity. SGC offers fast turnaround times may slap PSA label when PSA requests their help.
  • @joes622
It means I will never buy or submit to be graded ever again. Raw 100%. Lifetime collector and 15+ year SGC customer. No more. Done. F em all.
  • GBC is literally the best for those wondering. One time submitter here (only once cuz I’m a poor recent college grad 🤣) and couldn’t be happier
  • @flood4266
I’m hoping this continues only to improve SGC’s turnaround times, customer service, and grading quality with its increased access to financial resources.
  • Are you guys going to be at the Nashville show next weekend? I need to drop some cards off to you.
  • @Doors067
Woke up with offere on EVERY single sgc slab i had listed. The sharks are smelling psa crossovers and yet i declined every offer because i am too...im buying
