  • Anne waited in line for a restroom next to me in Vegas. She was so nice and chatted me up, asking what I was doing in Vegas. I told her I was celebrating with 2 friends as all 3 of our birthdays fell within the same week. I asked her what she was up to and she said she was taking some relaxation time with a few friends. Later I ran into her. She recognized me and smiled brightly as she said, "Hey Megan, happy birthday!" She tapped her friend and said "Hey, it's her birthday!" Her friend smiled and also wished me a happy birthday. It was freaking Vince Vaughn! She really could not have been more wonderful. She was just incredibly sweet and relatable and just... I mean I want to say "normal" but she was much better than normal. What a great lady. I don't know yet what she may have had in her system (in terms of drugs) at the time of the crash, but I would like to ask people to take a minute before condemning her. Or anyone who dies because of substance use/abuse. People use drugs when there are incredibly stressful and/or painful things going on for which they have run out of learned coping skills, naturally developed coping skills and the emotional strength to handle whatever is going on. Additionally, mental illnesses such as depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, anxiety, etc, can magnify someone's specific issues and problems such that they become overwhelmed very quickly compared to how a "normal" person would consider the same set of issues to be manageable. Further, mental illness decreases the effectiveness of coping skills. So when stress or emotional suffering or pain ramps up, the mentally afflicted person has fewer effective coping skills in their wheelhouse. Drug abusers, the vast majoritiy anyway, are not bad people who deserve ridicule. They are human being just like everyone else. If you have survived trying times in your life without turning to drugs or alcohol, please just be grateful that you had within yourself the life skills and the emotional strength to conquer your problems without resorting to such risky and self-harming behavior to cope. Be grateful, yes, but also be PROUD of your abilities and knowledge and skills and resourcefulness. Not everyone can manage as well as you when they're hurting. For the 3rd time, BE GRATEFUL YOU PULLED THROUGH. Please do not use your success to look down upon those who are without such impressive resilience. Anne Heche was an organ donor. I realize many parts of her body were devastatingly damaged given her injuries, but what matters to me is that she agreed to donate as many viable organs and tissue as she possibly could. My younger brother passed suddenly and unexpectedly at age 34. I loved my brother so much. He was a WONDERFUL, successful, happy, kind, generous, smart, funny, loyal, helpful, hard-working, reliable, trustworthy, supportive, friendly, optimistic, faithful, respectful person with an all too rare ability to forgive people. His donated organs and tissue were directly responsible for saving the lives of FOUR different people. His donations also helped another 14 people improve their quality of life utilizing his donated skin, bone, muscle, cartilage, corneas, etc. If you are not an organ donor, please consider researching the subject. You may not have seen enough evidence to make an informed decision. My deepest condolences to Anne's family. I am so sorry for the pain you're in. I wish I could help you. Honor her by being kind to others and having compassion for people less fortunate. Treat all people with dignity and respect. Anne didn't look down upon anyone. If you ever catch yourself doing that, please remember Anne's shining personality and stop it. My brother, I am so proud of your decision to be an ORGAN DONOR. I'm so proud to be the sister of a man who has actually saved 4 human lives by choosing to selflessly offer up any parts of his body that he no longer needed. Anne Heche, thank you for being an organ donor. ❤
  • So saddened by the fact that her kids have to grieve their loss. I lost my mom and I know the hurt. 🙏🙏
  • Me and my wife met her on our 20th anniversary in Las Vegas. She was sitting at the table eating dinner with her friends. I didn't know her until my wife said it's the lady who plays in Donnie Brasco. When Anne found out it was our anniversary she paid for our meal and bought us a bottle of wine . RIP Anne. Thank you for being so kind
  • Not losing a minute of sleep over this. Her actions leading up to this were inexcusable and horrific. You tube coddles criminals and lawbreakers..
  • I'm so sad it ended this way for Anne. She was really vibrant and creative but sadly dealt with very dark personal demons her whole life. Really wishing peace and wellness for her family who are suffering from a tragic loss right now. If you know someone who is struggling in life right now, please remember Anne, and let them know they are loved and how much their life means. Because no one knows who'll still be here tomorrow.
  • I'm so sad that Anne died in such a devastating way. I hope she rests in peace, and I pray for her family. She was a sweet soul.

Oh man! First we lose Olivia Newton-John at the beginning of the week, now we've lost Anne. My thoughts go out to her family, friends and fans at this most difficult time.
  • Anne had a rough childhood. Only those who live that understand there are scars on top of scars, on top of scars. Some days you do good, with moments of joy, and some days are really bad. I'm so sad she was having a bad day because now we can't see her shine her light anymore, only Angels can. My deepest sorrow for her family, and friends.
