  • And they survived the transition in the third movement from the first part (“… ein ende…”) to the second part (“.. keine qual …”) without getting confused. Bravissimi!

The best rendition of Brahms' Requiem I've heard.

This is one of the best renditions I’ve heard!!! I can clearly hear the 4 parts interweaving, really appreciate your effort!!!❤
  • This is by far the finest record of Ein Deutsches Requiem I've ever heard. The Choir, the tempo... Everything is second to none.

What a special performance. Not afraid, just playing Brahms. Wonderful.
  • We've just performed this with our amateur choir in Amsterdam and this version comes closest to how I remember it. I think this version is the most beautiful I've heard so far! I love it! Meine Seele verlanget und sehnet... I miss Brahms already

I think Brahms would be happy and proud with how well this piece was performed. Bravo.

Simply magnificent. Brahms has been my favorite composer for as long as I can remember, and this performance was superb.
  • I am extensively experienced in this work, both as listener and as participant (chiefly in the chorus). It has always been a favorite of mine, and I have enjoyed it in many ways, live, recorded...and in this medium, where this performance joins many others I've been able to access, mainly from various German broadcasting companies. This version I only now (January 2023) discovered quite by chance...and likewise discovered that it was performed in November 2019, only two months after the permanent departure of my wife. Much has been made of Brahms' agnosticism, and I likewise describe myself as a "would-be believer," and I'm glad to say that not only the piece, but also this VERY sterling performance of it, might ultimately convince me otherwise! I have to marvel at the depth of this composer's spirit that he could create such a masterpiece...and I similarly congratulate these Norwegian musicians, all of them, that they've achieved this superior interpretation of it which comforts me so much in my loss. In a word: thank you. JAT
  • An absolute beautiful rendition of this requiem; one of the best I have ever listened to!

Having been in the orchestra for this multiple times, and it always being a very large symphony, I have loved the big sound of Brahms and his Requiem. However, I have a new appreciation for this piece after listening to your interpretation. The phrasing, color, textures, and sound are stunning. Thank you so much for enlightening us with this performance. It's so beautiful. Bravo. The icing on the cake is that the conductor is Grete Pedersen!

Wonderful , transparant, sensible and dynamic interpretation. First class choir singing and instrumental playing . Brahms would be happy to hear his composition by these outstanding performers. Bravissimo!
  • The Requiem has been my favorite choral work since I first sung in a 300+ chorus in Ft. Worth, Texas. I have listened to performances many times since, but this one was, in my opinion, the best I have ever heard. Superb throughout! Thanks for posting.
  • Wow! How nicely sung and played. Beautiful choir voices, very homogenic. Brava Maestra Pedersen!
  • Eine der großartigsten Aufführungen des Requiems - Chor, Orchester, Solisten und Dirigentin eine spirituelle Einheit! ❤❤❤
