I answer your Los Angeles Lakers questions in the latest Buha's Block mailbag.

I cover why the Lakers aren’t going to trade LeBron James, the potential scenarios in which D’Angelo Russell remains a Laker, what the Arenas provision means for Max Christie’s free agency, if Christie can develop into a 3-and-D rotation wing, DeMar DeRozan’s fit in LA, Jalen Hood-Schifino’s trade value, and more.

If you'd like me to answer your questions in a future mailbag, drop your question in a comment below (or hit me up on X/Twitter when I tweet out the mailbag prompt).

Thank you for answering my question. Your coverage is a breath of fresh air in this landscape where people decide what to say based on how many clicks they think it'll get rather than trying to be as accurate and level-headed as possible.

I just don’t feel like Lakers are or have been serious about going for it, much less being ran like a modern NBA franchise. It feels like a 1991 country club at times vs a 2024 front office that’s full of analysts/ NBA minds- all pulling in the one direction.

Another great post! I may not know all he players or the terminology but you make it easy and entertaining.
  • @CrowKage8
I wanna see Colin Castleton’s improvement and probably package the 17th pick for a trade

I’m 29, I never thought my hate for the Celtics was this strong. I grew up hating them because of my dad. I hated the Pierce/Garnett/Rondo teams but since then it hasn’t been the same hate. Since last night, I feel ill. Like actually sick to my stomach 🤢

We are going to have to take some educated guesses in order to get us in position to win big. One of those bets needs to be on Christie becoming a viable 3 and D starter. Give him as long a contract as we can and bank on him filling the SG spot at a cost effective price.

Question for next mailbag: Thoughts on this trade? Lakers: Murray, Hunter Grizzlies: Capela, 2nd Rounder Hawks: Smart, Rui, Finney-Smith, Vincent, JHS, 3 1sts Nets: D’Lo, 2nd rounder Dejounte/Reaves/Hunter/Bron/AD with CP3/Goga/Prince/Christie/Vando/Wood would be plain deadly.

If we get to the pick 17 and still available Edey and Da Silva ,wich one you select.I think Da Silva Is NBA ready and not all the time you have the opportunity to select a 6"8 or 6"9 wing

Lakers need to make major moves on the roster to contend. 1. DLO opts in and get a sign & trade with two future 1R picks for Dejounte Murray. 2. Reaves / JHS gets traded for Cam Johnson. 3. Trade Rui & pick 17 for Wendell Carter. 4. Gary Trent jr for MLE. This makes the lakers a legit contender and future would be bright post LBJ. Dejounte Murray / Gabe V Gary Trent Jr / Max C Cam Johnson / Prince LBJ/Vando AD / Wendell Spencer Dinwiddie Christian Wood Cam Reddish Colin Castleton Max Lewis
  • @bryan3386
How do you think Cam Johnson would fit on the Lakers?
  • Jovan, always great content! Is it possible that the Lakers pursue Monty Williams? Thanks!
  • @nas5059
in every mention of the lakers future, I never see vando get brought up. are the lakers looking to move him (which i don’t like)?
  • @Dalboys805
@jovanbuha what is one thing you want Reaves, Rui, and Vando to bring into their game next year? (Assuming they're here).
  • @JustHere10
Rather do Murray and Hunter than Trae. But you also have atl send Fernando and griffin
  • @Xray__12
Jovan thoughts on Lavine/Caruso trade with the bulls? If DLo opts in money works with DLo, Rui, Gabe, JHS, & min contract. Likely have to include only one pick (maybe 17? Or try to negotiate pick swap this year & unprotected 29’). Bulls can then reroute DLo to nets who have interest.
  • @myles_ad
With the talk of the Lakers targeting role players and pivoting away from the three star build, how likely is it that they revisit talks around Bruce Brown? Who are some other players that could be on that list?
  • @ucity85
First off sign JJR as the coach. Secondly draft Eddy. Throw him in at the 5 and put AD at the 4. And let's roll!
  • Jovaaaannn Buuuuhhhhaaaaaaaa!!!! BBBBBBUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
  • @donsportstv1532
wassup jovan who would be the number 1 acquisition that the lakers can get this offseason not named a star player that you think they should try to sign
