"Is a dream a lie if doesn't come true, or is it something worse?". Bruce Springsteen is a lyrical genius.

One of the most emotive lines ever "No wedding day smiles, no walk down the aisle, no flowers, no wedding dress".

Bruce is an amazing writer, an incredible storyteller and has a legendary band... He cannot miss the target even if he tried. Real songs about real life.
  • Bruce wrote this song about his sister Virginia. She got pregnant very young ,married and they struggled financially in the 80's. They are still married. Yes, seeing Bruce live is beyond amazing. He is still putting on 3 hour shows 2 months shy of 75 and continues to touch hearts....amazing artist and human!!

You are free not to believe me, but I tell you that Bruce, with his music, saved my life. In a very difficult period for me, after leaving school and finding myself unemployed, with my father who thought I was a slacker, with a girl who had deceived me by telling me she loved me, with friends who did not turn out to be true friends, Bruce's music was the foundation I clung to so as not to sink. It seemed strange, but I immediately understood what Bruce wanted to say, they were not just songs that talked about cars, girls, as some people thought, in those songs I saw a part of myself and even knowing full well that I would never be able to redeem myself and assert myself like Bruce, they gave me the strength to resist and react. When in 1985 I finally fulfilled my dream of seeing my first Springsteen concert, I was already a different person and as soon as I saw him on that stage I cried and thanked him to myself. I don't care if someone thinks I'm superficial for saying these things, I've been through them and I know their value. Thanks Bruce

"Jungleland" is a ten-minute ride thr'u' a night in the life of New York City with Clarence Clemons' greatest sax solo: RIP. Bruce & his E Street Band in Madison Square Garden in 1985 is the best video!

His art means a lot to a young poor man. Its important to know you are not suffering alone. Misery loves company as they say. People really love him because he understands what they are going through. He is a great artist and deserves the respect that so many people feel for him

Wow. WOW. What a beautiful reaction! Thank you!
  • @dougieyou
Awesome and honest reaction by both of you to a fantastic song. Bruce can really write and sing some awesome heartfelt songs. Every Song on "Nebraska" album is killer and hopefully you will react to a few. Once again love your reaction.
  • This is my favourite Springsteen song, too. I play it on an acoustic guitar every Saturday at a local matinee I do. I grew up in the ā€œrust beltā€ before moving to British Columbia at about the same time Bruce did - I feel this song in my very bones. Peace

You are such a lovely couple, the love between you is so clear. You become my favorite reactors. You feel the emotions of the songs, abd that is what music about: feeling and sharing emotions. And Bruce is a master. Thank you so much, you made my day a bit better šŸ˜˜
  • @KyleS.1987
Bruce is such an incredible storyteller, whether it's in song or just talking about his own life.
  • @annereidy7981
This is my favourite too, played it to death back when it came out and while I caught him live back in the mid 80's, they didn't play it. So it's lovely to catch this now. He is one amazing storyteller.

Lots of echos of my life here. I left home in Alabama at 15 and came to New York City on my own. I lived in an unfinished basement , went to high school days and worked nights to support myself . Graduated from high school and won a National Merit Scholarship to college . This was in the Viet Nam era so I got my my first draft notice then . They gave me a deferment because I was in college. Met my wife , got her pregnant, dropped out of college and got married . I was 19 , she was 17 . The government found out I had dropped out of college and sent me another draft notice and this time I was deferred because I was married with a child .I never even got to the point of taking a physical . One of my old schoolmates was killed there , and my cousin David who was a medic because he refused to kill others was wounded 3 times there .When asked if I fought in Viet Nam , I would say I did all of my fighting on the home front . Oh God did my wife and I fight !!

That is my favorite Springsteen song. It reminds me so much of the 1970's
