Sturgill Simpson recorded live by Music Fog at Marathon Recorders in Nashville during the 2011 Americana Music Festival & Conference. This is an unreleased song, exclusive to Music Fog, that was about one week old at the time of the recording. This song was later released on Sturgill's album High Top Mountain, listed as the full title of "Life Ain't Fair and the World is Mean." (Sunday Valley was Sturgill Simpson's band name before going by his namesake.)

  • Why can’t the pimps in Nashville realize, THIS is the country music we want to hear.

I’ve never come across a song that needs to be put on Spotify so bad. So much better than the album version. Incredible

Me as a grumpy old man to my grandkids in year 2052: "Listen up you damn kids. Life aint fair... I'm still waiting for Sturgill to upload the YT version to Spotify."

That guitar and voice come together like cocaine and waffles
