Slaughterhouse is the level that dethroned Tartarus after so long, and Tartarus was my hardest demon when it happened. This level is what kickstarted the massive advancement in difficulty that we've seen over the last 3 years. I truly thought I would always be on the other side of it all; simply witnessing the new generation of players that came after me push the game to its limits more than I could ever dream, watching in awe as it happened. I can't believe I was finally able to experience this level of difficulty and beat arguably the most influential Extreme Demon of the 2020s.
I remember when the GD World Tournament hosted the Slaughterhouse Race on Doggie's channel, after watching for a bit, I was curious how many parts I could do in the level. It led to me being able to do far more than I expected. So I tried to properly learn the level and, to my surprise, it went very well and that's why I committed to it.
About the level, it's a huge mixed bag. The drop parts are actually pretty fun despite their difficulty but towards the end of playing the level, they lost much of their enjoyment simply because of how much I had to practice them. This was specifically the case for River and Cuber's wave parts. There are also a ton of super awkward clicks and patterns throughout the entire drop and nearly all of them were decent chokepoints, most notably the 26% double click, 43% gap LOL, 51% release, 53% gap, 63% double click, and 79-80%. Even though the waves were all relatively fun on their own, they all ended up driving me crazy because of how many chokepoints existed within them.
Of course, I can't talk about Slaughterhouse without mentioning the pre-drop. Yeah, the most mind-numbingly boring and awful beginning to any level I have ever played. It feels like it takes forever to get through and you click no more than once per second for most of it. The one part that involves doing some more clicks and timings just so happens to contain two of the hardest individual clicks in the level (19% and 21%). I cannot stress enough how much this part kills your motivation and enjoyment. It truly made every session feel like the level was never going to let up. Getting stuck here every single session was unbelievably demoralizing. The happiness that I feel knowing I never have to deal with it again is immeasurable.
Finally, I need to thank every single person who stopped by all of the streams to hang out and watch me go at this level for 2 months straight. I truly don't think I could have done it without the support. It means so much to me that so many people want to watch me play this silly $5 game that we all may love a bit too much. :)
