I’m so glad they teach this to officers, it’s very common for a suspect to grab a rubber chicken and squeak them next to the cops challenging them not to laugh or they’ll shoot the hostages.

When my dad went military school, they had their own try not to laugh challenge. He said how it worked was that people would be put into pairs and a man would walk around to each pair. If the man made one of the guys laugh, their partner would get hit in the chest with something. Whatever it was that was used to hit them wasn't entirely horrible, but it still hurt. The person would keep being hit as long as his partner kept laughing. My dad said that the man said at one point "Stop laughing! You're killing your partner!"

I find this test madly humourous. Just the sneaky way the toy is introduced gets me roaring. Then comes the clucking sound and this sends me sprawling. This made my day.
