It reminds me of the episode of Tigtone of how in order to breach reality, he needed a sword that could "cut nothing," so he ruins his sword by banging it til it dulls. Now that his sword could cut "nothing" (read: literally) it actually cut thru to another dimension.

So this thing is so sharp that it cuts through dimensions, in fact it is a powerful weapon, but very difficult to handle in a practical way since any involuntary movement causes it to cut through another dimension, causing its blade to disappear into the "physical plane". I think the only way this thing could be minimally usable is if it had a sheath that could contain its blade.
