I also want to point out that I could easily make the reverse version of this video. That is, Destiny 2 does so, so many things better than Destiny 1. Remember when we had to go to orbit before launching any activities? This video's purpose is simply to recall some of our favorite D1 features that have yet to adequately make it into D2.
If you enjoy the video, pressing the like button helps a TON and I really appreciate it!

I miss the old tower the most. It felt like home, and was perfectly designed.
-
The thing i miss the most is armor sets. They looked way better in D1. Iron banner was the armor i liked the most. Thats why the most used armor sets are trials armor from D1. Now they glow tho.

The Dreadnaught was an awesome destination. I loved the whole prison ship story line, and just how creepy it was there. The court of Oryx was a lot of fun too
-
I loved the post apocalyptic vibe of D1, it really felt like humanity was just hanging on by a thread, and every strike and mission we did felt like we were reclaiming humanities old places. D2 lost that feel completely and became another sci-fi shooter.
-
I miss the old cryptic feel d1 had, just playing and exploring feels completely different in the second game and I really prefer the feel of the 1st

The taken King was the peak of strike design, if you ask me. Shield brothers, Sunless Cell, Fallen S.A.B.E.R, Echo Chamber, and Blighted Chalice. Nowadays strikes (and bosses in general) are mostly just something that brings up an immunity shield at every third of remaining health until you defeat a group of ads.

I miss the way it felt to explore Mars, Venus, Earth, and the Moon for the first time. It felt mysterious, and abandoned. Like I was an explorer looking for anything left to take home to a waning civilization. Now, D2 feels like we’ve became the strongest force again and now we’re a bunch of soldiers invading the enemies. I loved how D1 made us feel weak and vulnerable. I still visit d1 to this day because it’s just superior, but D2 is still fun regardless!

3:54 It looked so cool for Titans to look like the Warpriest, Hunters to look like the Daughters of Oryx and for Warlock to look like Oryx. It actually felt like you wearing the boss as armor
-
Finally someone else who misses customizing weapon optics. D1 had wayyy more variety in this regard. Also customizing weapon optics kind of make the gun feel more like your own.
-
3:28 the most annoying thing is that, most of the cool armors are in eververse and not in activities. It is frustrating to have no drip anymore if you don’t pay
-
What i thought was cool in Destiny 1 was the enemy variety. There were all these different colours of Fallen and Cabal, there were also some cool boss/miniboss style enemies that have never been re-used.

Armor in D1 was next level awesome. I was extremely disappointed when D2 first came out that all armor pieces were basically reskins. Even some of the Eververse sets were reskins or very similar to world drops. Also, the game not starting out with random rolls was very disappointing, especially when you could get easy access to godrolls from vendors. Oh, D1 had way better shaders too.

Art direction on armor and weapons were just more tasteful back then. I like(ish) most of what they release in D2, but there's this lived-in quality to many of D1 (especially y1) items that are so much less gaudy than so much of D2's stuff. You mentioned titans. Go look at D1 titan concept art, or just the leveling sets (white quality gear) for titans in D1. That gear looks amazing. I would love to have that kind of stuff be available in D2 for transmog.

I just want my glowy Trials huinter cape and cat ears back BUNGIE PLZ

Can't put my finger on why I like it more, but I thoroughly enjoyed the leveling system in D1 & like hitting each level milestone. At least once per year, I start a new character in D1 to experience the OG "New Light" journey.
-
Also the daily story missions & the secret pathways in some that led to extra / exotic rewards... But just the way you could replay the campaign was also a plus
-
The thing I liked about d1 was the vibe it felt mysterious and magical d1 feels so robotic
-
For the content model I prefer Forsakens model of having a big expansion followed by 3 seasons rather than the current 4 per year. D1s replayability really carried it through the droughts. As for map rosters, I prefer whichever one has more variety from map to map, before they removed maps it was close but right now D1 takes it

I always feel better playing D1, the atmosphere is a lot different I almost feel like I'm inside the game
