Moral of the story...brush twice a day and floss once a day. As long as your doing that as well as your twice a year check ups youll be good to go. Im 37 and wish I took my teeth health more seriously in my twenties cause thats when I was partying alot not brushing enough or eating late and not brushing before bed. Never really became anxious about my teeth until now. Take care of your teeth people. With that said I have the Oral B iO Series 6.

After using a Manual toothbrush my whole life and then recently switching to a sonic toothbrush... it just feels wrong to brush without scrubbing!

Thank you again for making these videos Whitney! I took your advice and massively improved my dental health. I visited my dentist this morning for a check up and he joked to me that I wouldn’t even have to come in again if I continued my perfect (his words) dental routine! All thanks to you!
  • Im currently in dental assisting school and we are a hybrid school, so we work in a lab and also do online. we have to watch these videos online and there's this girl that we watch for a lot of our sections. she looked so familiar (I've been in this class for 8/12 weeks) I couldn't figure out who she was but I knew she was familiar. turns out it was you the entire time 🤣 and I've been watching your vids wayyyy before I even started this school lol

Thank you so much for this channel, as someone on a lot of severe psych meds I had severe gum recession and you make it so much easier to know how to maximize my dental health!

Hi y’all :) If anyone is considering going from regular toothbrush to electric, DO IT! I picked up the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 a few months ago, and it’s honestly insane how great electric is! Regular is also great, but the rotations on electric are far more than a human could do. And it also helps for days/nights where you’re a little lazy to brush and the toothbrush does all the work for you. That’s the big thing with electric, it’s consistent because it doesn’t get lazy/tired😂 Thank u Whitney for convincing me to go electric a few months ago :) have a good one y’all! P.S. I’m not a dentist or DH, just my opinion :D

My dentist 20 years ago hooked me on the Rotodent electric toothbrush. I loved it! It came with optional brush heads. It allowed me to clean my teeth well and deep. However, that company got bought out many years back. The product kept changing and prices got out of hand. I am back to manual brushing. For the most part my dental health has been ok with manual brushing, however, due to the pandemic I have not had a cleaning or check up in a couple of years. Your video motived me to schedule an appointment with my dentist. Thanks!

My first Oral B round head instruction was to use a U-shape path for each tooth: one side, the gum line, the other side. It had a 30-second vibration for each section. Newer models skip instructions.

9/10 people agree with this video

I've used both. I like to add that Oral B replacement brushes are cheaper than Sonicare's. I preferred the handling of Oral B. Don't like the feel of hand vibrating when holding the Sonicare.

Hi Whitney, i just wanna say thank you for feeding my growing love for oral hygiene. I feel like I've brushed and flossed my teeth more in the past month post jaw surgery (which started because of fear of infection) than in my past life pre-surgery. Now I'm kinda addicted, brushing & flossing 3x a day, and looking at toothbrush and flossing types/models/techniques,etc. Hence i have all these new teeth and dentistry related channels in my YT recos that i didnt necessarily ask for, but still glad to have discovered you through the magic of algorithm. 😀

Electric toothbrushes are great. I wish I had the same kick in the pants for dental hygiene when I was younger but such is life. I am more on top of things when it comes to my kids and grandkids dental health because my parents just weren't educated or interested in it at all. (I can say that thankfully receiving dental care on a regular basis was a thing, but the dentist and the hygienist just assumed they knew what they were doing AND that they would know how to give their kids directions.)
  • Thanks for this. I ended up with a round head because my mouth is really small and I have very little space, it’s easier to reach my back teeth really well. I also found sonic brushes to be uncomfortable
  • Just have my teeth done yesterday, deep scaling to be exact, and my hygienist recommends the electric toothbrush as well as a good dental flosser. This video came as the right time. Thanks 😊

I use the Oral B Pro 1000. Picked it up for about 50 bucks. Won't go back to manual toothbrushes unless I'm in a jam. The brush heads can be a bit pricey but tbh you kinda get what you pay for. I bought a pack of Walmart brand toothbrush heads that said "compare to ---" but they were terrible. They work well for a couple weeks but then they seem to lose their oscillation. As in, they don't spin very well. I felt like I wasn't getting the job done, so I splurge and get the Oral B brand OEM heads. What's the saying? "Invest in yourself"?
  • @matt007
I haven’t used a manual tooth brush in about 20 years. Once you go electric you don’t go back to manual! 😂😂😂
  • I use both. My Sonicare toothbrush cleans my teeth quicker, but seems too big to get each tooth thoroughly. It's easier to get each individual tooth with the Oral-B toothbrush. Just in case I miss a spot with the Sonicare, I know I'll be able to thoroughly get that spot with the Oral-B before bed. I'm usually in a rush before work, which is why I prefer using the Sonicare before work. That's just my preference. Each one has its benefits.

That was exactly the form of advice I was looking for. Thanks for the guidance!
