  • Elmer is legit. I was with him in Vietnam, where he was awarded Navy Cross for hunting wabbits. Had to be vewy vewy quiet though.
  • Elmer was critical to all our missions, he kept all our paper glued together
  • I'm British. Lost a very good friend who was SBS (British Seal equivalent), in Afghanistan. These walts boil my piss. Keep up the good work sir.
  • I wasn't a SEAL but was a member of the top-secret WALRUS unit in the Air Force. I jumped into Fallujah with Jeremy Dimwitte from an SR-71 going mach-6 from 106,000 feet in '94. You won't find any records because of course they're all classified and I suffered from PTSD from working with Dimwitte so I break out into fits of laughter whenever someone mentions the mission.
  • I was in the US Navy. Tried out for the seals October 1986. I couldn’t pass the swim test. Ended up in naval aviation working on jets. Most fun I had in my life.
  • The fact that no Navy SEAL has ever been captured is pretty amazing when you consider how many conflicts these men have been involved in.
  • @SonOfNone
Elmer's been sniffin' too much glue.
  • I never served, but I can't even fathom pretending to be someone that I am not. Stepping up and taking bows for something I didnt accomplish. I am proud of the life I built for myself and I am proud of who I am. You don't have to lie to gain respect. Why don't these guys get that? If you arent proud of yourself, then find something and work hard at it. Put in the hours. You don't have to dazzle people with being a Navy SEAL. People will respect you for being honest.
  • Hey. Stop busting on the Coast Guard. We are the sole reason Navy wives have beautiful children. 🤣😂😂
  • My twin brother served as a marine during active combat. He can’t stand hearing people say they are snipers or special force’s to strangers. Jon said to me that it’s RARE to hear any soldier talk about active combat. Highly disrespectful to do such a thing! I appreciate people like you Don, thank you for your service!
  • Elmer is such an embarrassment that it makes me feel extremely sorry for his dog. A dog doesn’t deserve this.
  • @carl5381
As a duly elected representative of the US Army, I'm afraid that we're going to have to politely decline your offer of Elmer and pass him off to the Coast Guard.
  • @aww-cr2zn
Don't send any "Elmers" to the Army. We respectfully decline. Maybe the Coast Guard is a better home for them.
  • I don't laugh out loud very often, but when you came out with that Elmer line I burst out laughing. Love what you do and the way you do it.
  • @99fxr68
Listening to Don talk about weirdos, drinking a beer, getting a tattoo. Life’s good. Thank you sir.
  • "My names Elmer, I was a navy SEAL." Sounds like something someone would name their pet seal.
  • @Clasteau
My dad is freaking 80 amd can still tell you when he got outta basic and who he served under on what ships and other guys that where there. If there's one thing I've learned as a Navy brat, it's a sailor never forgets that stuff. Hell, I can tell you some of the ships he was stationed on toward the end because I was alive at the time getting letters and tapes and stuff. The simple stuff gets these fakes for sure.
  • What makes even extra special besides being a seal, is how you look and interact with the camera, you make us feel like we are in the room with you. All those facial expressions and faces! Brilliant Mr. Shipley. Thank you and your brothers, past and present for their service!
